As a result of an engagement hook (49e) on the feed sinker (49), a final loop (26) of the knitted fabric (27) hooked onto the knitting needle (21) is pressed to the inside of the knitting needle cylinder (19) and a gap (G1) is formed between an inside surface of the knitting needle (21) and an inside loop (26a) preceding the final loop (26). The feed sinker (49) is moved in the knitting needle axial direction from the knitting needle (21) to the feed needle (34) and the final loop (26) is moved from the knitting needle (21) to the feed needle (34). The knitted fabric (27) can be smoothly moved to the feed needle (34) as a result of the gap (G1), without the final loop (26) catching at the continuous section between the feed needle (34) and the knitting needle (21).
