METHOD FOR PRODUCING A ROOF TILE HAVING A WATER BARRIER AND ROOF TILE HAVING A WATER BARRIER SHAPED THEREON
The invention relates to a method for producing a roof tile having a water barrier, wherein the water barrier is shaped onto a roof tile blank, which is supplied onto a lower mould, of a shaping unit, with a shaped piece and a shaping stamp that can move in relation to same. The shaped piece is placed on an upper side of a top end of the roof tile blank, and the shaping stamp is pressed against the top end of the roof tile blank, such that material of the roof tile blank is pressed into a shaping mould of the shaped piece. The roof tile blank is also arranged below the shaping unit and the shaping unit is vertically lowered onto the roof tile blank. The invention also relates to a roof tile produced according to this method having a water barrier shaped thereon.

ROOFING TILE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A ROOFING TILE
The invention relates to a roofing tile composed of concrete material and to a method for producing such a roofing tile, wherein the concrete material comprises a binder, a gravel, a light-weight aggregate, and added water and the roofing tile has at least one watercourse and a lateral interlocking joint consisting of a covering fold and a water fold, wherein, according to the invention, the ratio of water to binder is less than 0.3, the light-weight aggregate is composed of a material that is hydrophobic and/or not hygroscopic, the roofing tile has a density in the range of 1.6 g/cm3 to 1.9 g/cm3 after the hardening, wherein the roofing tile has a thickness of 5 mm to 9 mm, preferably 7 mm to 8 mm, in the highly loaded regions, preferably in the region of the watercourse. The roofing tile according to the invention can be economically produced in the extrusion method with low material costs, has a signficantly reduced weight, and has strength comparable to conventional roofing tiles over the long term. The roofing tile can be combined both with further roofing tiles according to the invention and with conventional roofing tiles in order to form a roof-covering assembly.
The present invention comprises essentially space-apart U-shaped rafters (10) appropriately attached to a truss framework (14), underlays (20) disposed on top extended sections (12) of the rafters (10), and cross battens (40) extending transversely relative to the rafters (10) and serving the purpose of supporting roof tiles (80). Counter battens (30) are employed to press down the underlays (20) to form valleys (21), each being a stretched rigid surface. The roof structure is adapted to be attached at the eave or the verge with fascia boards (60) or wall abutment (70), so that stray rainwater from heavy storms is prevented to enter the roof structure, thus rendering the roof structure watertight.
A plant and method for the manufacture of cementitious products, viz. cast concrete roof tiles (T), the plant comprising a mixing station (2) where the constituents of a cementitious composition, less an air entraining agent, are admixed under atmospheric pressure and further mixed under a partial vacuum of 200 to 340 mBar after the addition of an air entraining agent, the plant also comprising a molding station (4) where the tiles (T) are cast in a gang-mold (6) before being cured in a conventional autoclave for up to 10 hours at 45 degrees C. The cured concrete roof tiles (T) are de-molded after curing and conveyed to a surface preparation zone (12) where a primer coat of a water based epoxy and a surface coating of a water based emulsion paint are applied to at least an upper surface in use of the cast concrete roof tiles (T). The admixed cementitious composition has a Ford Cup flow of between 40 and 60 seconds and a slump test of between 180 and 220 mm. In an alternative method, instead of applying a primer coat, the upper surfaces, in use, of the roof tiles T are subjected to abrasion by grit-blasting to remove a thin layer from the upper surfaces thereby facilitating the subsequent application thereto of a surface coating.
