The invention relates to agricultural engineering, and more particularly to devices for driving a threshing rotor and controlling the rotation speed thereof in the threshing and separating apparatus of a rotary combine harvester. The invention is intended to provide the technical result of increased rotor drive reliability by virtue of a simplified drive design, increased torque transmitted from the engine to the rotor, and infinitely variable control of the rotation speed of the rotor. This technical result is achieved in that the combine harvester rotor drive device includes a system for clearing the rotor of blockages, which comprises a hydraulic cylinder, a ratchet wheel and a pawl, wherein the hydraulic cylinder, mounted on the housing of the rotor drive reduction gear, controls the pawl, which locks the ratchet wheel, by means of a mechanical connection, and the ratchet wheel is rigidly connected to the shaft of the inside gear of a planetary gear. The choice of gear ratio of the reduction gear makes it possible to reduce the weight of the combine harvester by excluding a gearbox from the reduction gear of the rotor drive.
