The invention provides a shaped fabric blank for use by a user in producing a fabric- product, the blank having a fabric portion with pre-determined markings and user instructions for use of the blank optionally in combination with other fabric blanks to produce a finished fabric product. The shaped fabric blank is made based on selection of a template pattern for the intended fabric blank. The shape and dimensions of the template pattern are modified by remote input of the person and may also be modified by an algorithm, the modified pattern is saved and aggregated with other saved modified patterns and applied to a fabric with other blanks and cut using computer-controlled apparatus. The blanks for the design are then selected and despatched to the end user.
