The invention is directed to a twine, in particular a twine for fishing nets, comprising a braided cover layer surrounding a core, wherein the cover layer comprises strands comprising a high-softening temperature cover material; wherein the core comprises an inner core and an outer core, which outer core surrounds the inner core; wherein the inner core comprises an inner low-softening temperature material and a high-softening temperature core material; wherein the outer core comprises an outer low-softening temperature material; and wherein the high-softening temperature cover material and the high-softening temperature core material each independently have a higher softening temperature compared to the softening temperature of inner and outer low-softening temperature materials as determined according to ASTM D1525. In another aspect, the invention is directed to a process of preparing such twines and to fishing netting comprising said twines.
The invention is directed to a jacketed mooring rope (1) comprising a core rope (2) and a jacket (3) surrounding said core rope, wherein the jacket comprises a braided layer of level 2 braided strands (30) and wherein said level 2 braided strands each comprise a plurality of level 1 braided strands (40). In another aspect, the invention is directed to a rope (30) for use in the jacket (3) of the jacketed mooring rope (1), wherein said rope (30) comprises a plurality of level 1 braided strands (40) that each comprise a plurality of braided yarns (50) surrounding one or more core yarns (51), wherein the braided yarns and the core yarns comprise fibers having a yarn count of at least 440 den; a tenacity of at least 5 g/den; and/or a modulus of at least 100 g/den.

The invention is directed to a synthetic hoisting rope comprising a solid core surrounded by a first braided layer of a first set of strands that is surrounded by a second braided layer of a second set of strands.
In accordance with the present invention there is provided a rope or yarn comprising a combination of polymeric fibers and inorganic fibers. The present invention provides means to increase the density of products such as ropes or yarns for applications where it is required that floating of such products is avoided. In addition, the mechanical properties of the rope or yarn are not negatively affected. It was found that the inorganic fibers may in some cases even contribute to the mechanical properties.
A synthetic hoisting rope comprising a solid core (100) surrounded by a first braided layer (200) of a first set of strands (210, 220, 230, 240), that in turn is surrounded by a second braided layer (300) of a second set of strands (310, 320, 330, 340), wherein both layers have a load bearing functionality. The core (100) provides radial form stability while the double-braid resp. braid-on-braid construction (200, 300) provides load capacity of the synthetic hoisting rope.
A sealed rope (1) comprising an elongated core (3) comprising a thermoplastic material and a multitude of load bearing yarns forming a layer (2) around said core (3), wherein, during manufacturing, in between said yarns voids are initially present, wherein at least part of said voids are at least partly filled in the final sealed rope (1) by said thermoplastic material from said core (3). Moreover, the invention is directed to a method of producing the rope and use of the rope in for instance fishery or mining. The rope shows reduced internal wear compared to a rope comprising said voids.
