A tool supporting bar for supporting tools on an implement is disclosed and comprises an elongated tubular perimeter wall defining an interior and including a side wall portion. The bar includes a reinforcing wall located in the interior of the perimeter wall and mounted on the perimeter wall in a manner effective to increase bending resistance of the perimeter wall to a force applied in a direction normal to a plane of one of the side wall portion. A method of forming a tool bar comprises providing an elongated tubular perimeter wall defining an interior and including a one side wall portion; positioning a reinforcing wall in the interior of the perimeter wall; and mounting the reinforcing wall on the perimeter wall in a manner effective to increase bending resistance of the perimeter wall to a force applied in a direction normal to a plane of the side wall portion.
An equipment attachment adapter apparatus may comprise a base frame and a throat structure on the base frame that defines a throat extending through the apparatus with an entry and exit. The throat structure may comprise a floor wall having an upper surface defining a lower boundary of the throat, a first side wall and a second side wall positioned on opposite sides of the throat, and an upper wall positioned above the floor wall. In some embodiments, the upper surface of the floor wall is curved from the entry toward the exit. In some embodiments, the throat is relatively larger toward the entry and relatively smaller toward the exit. In some embodiments, a feed roll is rotatably mounted on the base frame at least partially in the throat with chevron-shaped teeth.

A segmented knife assembly for a mixer apparatus is disclosed. The knife assembly has a front, a rear, and a perimeter with a cutting edge forming a portion of the perimeter. The segmented knife assembly includes a support portion positioned toward the rear of the knife assembly for positioning on the auger of the mixer apparatus when the knife assembly is mounted on the mixer apparatus, and a positioning portion on the support portion and defining at least one positioning pocket, with the pocket being oriented toward the cutting edge of the knife assembly. The assembly also include a cutting portion removably positioned in the pocket of the positioning portion. The cutting portion includes a cutting edge section that forms at least a portion of the cutting edge of the knife assembly.
A cutting system with enhanced wear resistance comprises a first cutting element having a first surface and a second surface, and a first cutting edge formed at an intersection of the first surface and the second surface. The first cutting element comprises a body with a first base surface and a second base surface intersecting the first base surface. The first base surface has an undulating contour character along the intersection of the first base surface and the second base surface. A layer of wear resistant material is applied to the first base surface of the body adjacent to the first cutting edge. The layer of wear resistant material has a substantially uniform thickness along the first cutting edge to transfer the undulating contour character of the first base surface to the first surface of the first cutting element to give the first cutting edge a serrated character.
