An oven for a fire pit can be added after the fire in the pit is already burning. The oven can be used to bake pizzas and is then removed so that fire pit can be used as usual. The oven has an upper baking chamber separated from a lower chamber. The lower chamber is vented to the exterior by a large opening in the outer sidewall to control the very high temperature coming off of the fire pit. This opening also allows additional firewood or other fuel to be added to the fire without removing the fire pit. The baking chamber is thus spaced above the top of the fire pit by the height of the lower chamber. The baking chamber has a double exterior wall.
A lid for a fire pit includes a latch that connects the lid to the body of the fire pit. In one configuration, the lid is latched under an overhanging upper wall of the fire pit. The latch maintains the position of the lid when the fire pit is upright, placed or carried on its side, or turned upside down.
A cooking utensil mounts to a fire pit flange. The cooking utensil has a grill-type or griddle-type body that is cantilevered over the fire box of the fire pit. Food can be cooked directly on the utensil body, or a cooking pot or cooking pan can be supported on the body. The cooking utensil has at least one downwardly-projecting arm that defines at least a portion of a mounting slot that receives a portion of the upper flange of the fire pit to mount the cooking utensil. In one configuration, the arm defines a second slot that mounts the cooking utensil in an arrangement where the cooking surface is tilted downwardly to drain material from the cooking surface into the fire of the fire pit.
A storage caddy has spaced side walls that define aligned slots that receive different fire pit accessories such as a cover, one or more grills, a heat deflector, and griddles. The slots are angled rearwardly from vertical so the accessories tip rearwardly. The side walls are taller at the rear of the caddy providing both deeper slots for larger accessories and to provide access to the stored accessories. Additional accessory storage is provided through aligned openings in spaced flanges that project rearwardly from the front wall of the storage caddy.
A heat deflector for a fire pit includes primary and secondary deflector members. The secondary deflector member is mounted above the primary deflector member to define a heat chamber between the two deflector members. The primary deflector member defines openings to allow hot air and combustion products to pass through the primary deflector member under the secondary deflector member. The outer portions of the primary deflector member are bent downwardly. The heat deflector is mounted above a fire pit on a single accessory post that allows the position of the heat deflector to be adjusted up and down as well as pivoting from a position where no portion of the heat deflector is above the fire pit to a position wherein the entire heat deflector is above the fire pit.
A fire pit support is used between a fire pit and the underlying support surface. The fire pit support provides a heat shield that carries the fire pit above the underlying support surface while allowing air to circulate between the support surface and the heat shield. The fire pit support provides a raised lip about the perimeter of the heat shield to prevent the fire pit from unintentionally sliding off the edge of the fire pit support. The fire pit support includes water drainage openings that allow water to drain through the fire pit support. The drainage openings are configured to minimize heat that passes through the heat shield. The fire pit support can be shipped to the end user in a disassembled condition and readily erected by the end user using a typical screwdriver.

A portable fire pit includes adjustable height telescoping legs that provide a cooking height, a campfire height, and a storage height. When in the storage position, a majority of the lower leg portions are disposed alongside the sidewall or intermediate the upper flange and the bottom of the fire pit to provide a compact profile to the fire pit for carrying and storage. The fire pit includes a handle that allows a person to carry the fire pit with a single arm at the user's side. When the legs of the fire pit are in the storage position, a user can pick up the fire pit by the handle and place it in a vehicle or trailer for use in a different location. An airflow cone is provided above the fire box with an angled wall.
Furniture useful around fire pits include an accessory mount to allow items such as a tray or grill to be mounted to the furniture in both useful and storage positions. The accessory mount is repositionably carried on an armrest or table edge. The position of the mount can be changed along the length of the armrest or table edge. The mount assembly allows the accessory to pivot when in the useful position. A cup holder also can be repositionably carried by the armrest or the table edge. A table has storage areas for a fire pit griddle and fire pit cover.

A conversion ring for a portable fire pit allows the portable fire pit to be used within a block fire pit ring. If desired, the owner can remove the fire pit from the conversion ring and the block ring and use it in different locations. The conversion ring and the fire pit can lock together to limit rotational movement after installation. The conversion ring includes locking fingers that cooperate with elements of the fire pit. In one configuration, the locking fingers of the conversion ring cooperate with the legs of the fire pit when the fire pit is installed through the conversion ring.

A cooking plate is mountable to and removable from a fire pit. The cooking plate includes support tabs that position the cooking plate above the upper rim of the fire pit to provide even heating to the cooking plate while securing it in place with respect to the fire pit. The cooking plate can be placed on the fire pit after the fire has been started and removed while the fire is burning. The cooking plate has support tabs that each has an angled surface to allow the cooking plate to be leveled with respect to the fire pit. The cooking plate is ring-shaped and provides a central opening for the flame of the fire pit. The cooking plate defines an indentation that accommodates an accessory post of the fire pit.

A fire pit includes a main body having a double outer wall that defines an air inlet. An accessory support post is received by the main body within the double outer wall. A locking projection and locking flange cooperate to lock the vertical and rotational position of the support post with respect to the main body of the fire pit. A floating fire box is supported from above by a grilling flange that allows the fire box to move down when heated. The accessory post can be used with a post holder next to a camp fire. The post holder and accessory post use of the locking projection and locking flange to secure the accessory post with respect to the holder. A grill having an outer body member protects the user's finger from engaging sharp edges of an expanded metal grill.
