This invention is directed to a fishing rod holder having a generally annular mounting bezel which generally surrounds the mouth of a tube for receiving the butt of a fishing rod. The underside of the mounting bezel includes at least one blind hole or projecting mounting stud for receiving a fastener for mounting the rod holder without penetrating the exposed surface of the mounting bezel, providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. A rod engaging member or pin engages grooves in the butt of a rod, allowing it to swivel. The amount of resistance of the rod engaging member or pin to swivel motion can be adjusted.
A combined fishing rod and beverage holder for insertion into and removal from an opening in a marine vessel is disclosed. The combined fishing rod and beverage holder includes a substantially tubular hollow cylindrical member which is formed with an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion has a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the lower portion. The diameter of the upper portion enables a beverage container with or without an insulating jacket to be placed within and retained within the upper portion of the combined rod and beverage holder. The upper portion includes an outwardly projecting flange which includes apertures through which fasteners can be placed to secure the combined rod and beverage holder to a surface, such as a gunwale of a marine vessel. Other types or secure devices can also be employed to secure the combined rod and beverage holder to any surface.
A marine lighting device mounts in-line with a tubular member of a marine vessel structure such as a T-top, tower or hand rail. An LED light bar having an array of LEDs supportably mounted to a circuit board is sealably enclosed in a tubular lens which, in turn is disposed within a tubular housing, a central portion of which is provided with an opening through which illumination from the LEDs is emitted after passing through the lens. A sleeve coupling is used to mount at least one end of the housing to a free end of the tubular member. In lieu of using a sleeve coupling at both ends one end of the housing may be flared to receive one of the free ends of the tubular member. A lighted T-top incorporating at least one such marine lighting device and a lighted marine handrail are also disclosed.
A metal shutter with improved air and light transmission is provided. The shutter comprises a metal top, a metal bottom, and two metal sides, which can be collectively assembled into a frame. The frame can have a metal support column that can be affixed to the top and bottom. A number of metal slats can be affixed between the sides of the shutter, and can either pass through the center column or can be affixed to the center column. A hinge can be affixed to the top of the frame, and can also be affixed to a structure. The top, bottom, sides, support column, slats, hinge, and a lock all comprise the shutter. The hinge allows the shutter to rotate between a first, substantially vertical, position, and a second, non-vertical position. The lock holds the shutter to a structure when the shutter is in the first position.
The present invention comprises a simple, inventive sign bracket for use in the creation of signs of surprising structural integrity in a range of dimensions, said bracket characterized by a profile comprising a sign body, a C-bracket, and optionally an interlocking sign hanger and/or an angle retainer.
This invention is directed to a fishing rod holder having a generally annular mounting bezel which generally surrounds the mouth of a tube for receiving the butt of a fishing rod. The underside of the mounting bezel includes at least one blind hole or projecting mounting stud for receiving a fastener for securely mounting the fishing rod holder to a panel member of a marine vessel without penetrating the exposed upper surface of the mounting bezel in order to provide an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
An adjustable outrigger moves a trolling pole on a fishing vessel to an elevated, outboard position for trolling and inboard to a lowered position when not in use. The outrigger of a preferred embodiment is operated using an operating handle. Rotating the operating handle in one direction rotates a pole held by the outrigger from an inboard position to the outboard, deployed position. Simultaneously with the rotation in the horizontal plane, the pole is elevated in the vertical plane from a near horizontal position to a suitable trolling angle. The operating handle turns a shaft that communicates the rotation of the handle to an internal drive mechanism, which is housed in a drive mechanism housing. The rotational motion is converted to a linear, vertical action using a ball gear mechanism. A track provided by a bayonet coupler converts the linear vertical motion into a combined vertical and rotational motion.
A holder for an outrigger is disclosed which has a housing for mounting the holder on top of a structural part of a boat. The holder can be rotated in a horizontal plane to various fixed positions by means of a rotatable, retractable handle positioned below the structural part of the boat. The weight of the holder is taken by in internal structure of the housing, such that, during rotation to another position, the holder weight is not transferred to the handle; thereby making it easier to rotate the holder.
An apparatus is described, combining a portable outrigger holder with a fishing rod holder; so that both can be moved to a plurality of positions in both a horizontal plane and a vertical plane.
