A keel canting mechanism (220) for a sailing vessel having a hull, a keel and a mast is disclosed. The mechanism comprises a worm gear (3 10) co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the vessel about which the keel rotates during a canting movement. There is a double enveloping worm in mesh with the worm gear and means for driving the worm. The worm gear is fast with the keel and, when rotated by the worm (320), displaces the keel through a canting movement. The gear has a plurality of holes (343) in it into which pins can be inserted to lock the gear, and hence the keel, in the position to which it has been moved by the worm (320).

A sailing vessel is disclosed which comprises a hull, a keel depending from the hull and a mast. A ballast bulb (140) is provided at the lower end of the keel (120). A first control mechanism is provided for rotating the ballast bulb (140) about a transverse axis (710) to change the angle of attack of the bulb. A second control mechanism is provided for rotating the bulb about a longitudinal axis of the vessel.

A cooking utensil which comprises walling defining an upwardly open compartment having two side walls which are elongate in the vertical direction and in one horizontal direction. The distance between the side walls is less than the dimensions in the vertical and horizontal directions thereby to provide a food receiving compartment which is relatively long and relatively high but is also relatively narrow. To provide a number of parallel side-by-side compartments the utensil (64) comprises a bounding wall including two spaced apart sidewall sections (66). One or more partitions (70) extend parallel to the sidewall sections (66) and span between side wall sections (68) thereby to define a number of such compartments.
