A windlass tourniquet that facilitates the application of circumferential pressure and that compensates for natural pressure creep that occurs within minutes of tourniquet application
Present invention is directed to a tourniquet having a base including at least first and second sections and having a cap attached to one of the sections. A compression strap is attached to the base and extends across the base. A windlass handle is provided and includes a strap aperture through which the compression strap is threaded through and stitched to itself. A locking strap extends across and is attached to the cap. A handle stop engages the locking strap such that the handle stop freely slides along the handle strap. A strap connector assembly is provided and includes a buckle frame and a self-cinching sliding arm transversely extending from a first side of the buckle frame to a second opposing side of the buckle frame, a sliding arm configured to slide along the buckle frame. A buckle connector is attached to the compression strap to engage the buckle frame.

A personal ballistic protection device incorporates multiple removable test coupons. Each of the test coupons are retained with the ballistic device during its use until each coupon is removed for test purposes. Each test coupon has a construction identical to the protective portions of the ballistic device and is removable and configured to allow for destructive testing. Sufficient coupons are provided with the ballistic protection device to allow for periodic testing over a predetermined useful life of the ballistic protection device. One embodiment of the device is a body armor vest.

Verification of garment properties using multiple test coupons
Multiple test coupons are incorporated in the construction of a personal garment for the purpose of determining the presence of foreign substances acquired during garment use or a change in properties or other change in characteristics over time. Each of the test coupons is retained with the garment during the useful life of the garment until the coupon is individually removed for test purposes. Each test coupon has a construction identical to the garment construction and is easily removable and configured to allow for destructive testing. Sufficient multiple coupons are provided with each garment over its life to allow for periodic testing.

A collapsible litter including a first flexible and elongated body support member having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a plurality of flexible grab strap elements attached to the bottom surface of the body support member. The strap elements extend substantially beyond the surface of the body support member. A second flexible body support member, is disposed on the top of the first flexible elongated body support member, and covers a substantial portion of the first flexible elongated body support member. At least one edge of the second flexible body support member is affixed the top surface of the first flexible body support member forming a compartment with an opening for securing and transporting items such that the first and second body support members form a compartment for securing and transporting items.
An integrated wound dressing system and method including a bandage and a self-contained receptacle that stores treatment material for the care and treatment of wounds. The treatment material is easily accessible and can be removed from the receptacle through an exit. The treatment material can then be used to control bleeding and/or clean the wound before dressing. The bandage may include a layer of plastic that acts as an occlusion barrier to reduce heat loss and maintain moisture levels at the wound site. The occlusion barrier also acts to prevent the passage of air into or out of the wound site. The bandage also includes fasteners that act to prevent unintentional unraveling and to secure the bandage during final packaging. These fasteners help facilitate the wrapping of amputations, stumps, and extremities. The integrated wound dressing system provides an all-in-one system for treating and dressing wounds and reduces the time required to do so.

An integrated and complete dressing for the care and treatment of traumatic amputations and wounds. The traumatic amputation and wound dressing includes an oversized wound pad, an elastic bandage, and fasteners in an integrated unit for quickly and effectively treating an amputation. The elastic bandage may be attached to the wound pad such that the bandage forms an angle of about 90 degrees with respect to a vertical axis of the wound pad. The wound pad can be readily folded over an amputation and quickly wrapped with the elastic bandage. The fasteners may be attached to the periphery of the wound pad. When the dressing is applied to a stump of an amputated limb and the fasteners are engaged, the wound pad is relatively securely held in position and downward pressure is exerted on the stump. In some embodiments, the elastic bandage may also include brakes designed to prevent the bandage from unintentionally unraveling. The brakes also facilitate application of the dressing to the stump.
