A joint for an above-ground pool frame is disclosed. A variety of above-ground pool types are considered. Above-ground pools must be assembled before use and disassembled after use in a lengthy and time-consuming process to be stored properly and maintain modularity. The presently disclosed joint can ease the assembly and disassembly processes. The pool can comprise a plurality of joints configured to join at least the two or more horizontal support members through insertion. The presently disclosed joint can comprise at least a portion cutaway configured to laterally receive at least one horizontal support member from two or more horizontal support members. The presently disclosed joint can also be configured to receive at least one vertical support member. This and other embodiments are disclosed herein.
Disclosed is a collapsible container, such as an above-ground pool, having side walls with some level of transparency. The container may include a base, a side wall joined to the base, and at least one transparent portion of the side wall. The transparent portion may comprise a clear material strong enough to support the pool structure without the need for a reinforcing material. Such a design may be stronger, more durable, and allow for clearer viewing than conventional above-ground pools employing conventional portholes. Such a design may allow for larger portions of transparent material than traditional pools. For example, in some embodiments, half of the side wall could comprise a transparent portion. In some embodiments, the entire side wall could comprise a transparent portion. Additionally, the pool may have improved portability and storability characteristics that are superior to those of conventional pools.
An improved drain for an above-ground pool is disclosed. A variety of above-ground pool types are considered. Above-ground pools must be drained after use before being stored in a lengthy and time-consuming process. The improved drain can advantageously remain open during the draining process allowing for improved drainage. The drain can comprise a plug member and a locking member. The plug member can be configured to attach to the locking member when open. This and other embodiments are disclosed herein.

A connection system to facilitate the mechanical coupling, and the transfer of electrical power between, trunk sections of an artificial tree is disclosed. The connection system can include a mechanical coupling system having a guiding surface and a guiding slot on a first trunk section and a guiding protrusion disposed inside a second trunk section. Insertion of the first trunk section into the second trunk section and thus contact of the guiding protrusion against the guiding surface can cause the first trunk section to rotate relative the second trunk section until a predetermined rotational alignment is reached, aligning electrical contacts of first and second electrical connectors, each of which is attached to an outer wall of a respective trunk section. The electrical contacts of the first and second electrical connectors can establish electrical communication between the first and second electrical connectors, and thus between the first and second trunk sections.
