PI3K signalling is the most increased pathway in human cancers. The four isoforms of PI3K are thought to be activated by different redundant mechanisms leading to a common downstream signalling. The inventors questioned this concept, by mapping differential isoform-specific downstream signalling in response to their constant selective inhibition in pancreatic cancer, a disease currently without therapy. They identified common and specific signals activated by each PI3K isoform. These data make the rational for the development of highly selective PI3K isoform drugs used in combination, instead of compounds inhibiting all PI3Ks. In particular, the inventors showed that combined p110a and 110γ inhibition is the most efficient strategy for pancreatic cancer patients.

The invention relates to a chemical compound with an effective double photon absorbance section of greater than 50 GM, preferably greater than 100 GM, for at least one wavelength in the range 700-1200 nm, characterised in being made up of a core with double photon absorption properties connected by separate covalent bonds to at least two boron dipyrromethene type emitters of formula (-BDP) (I) : where one of R1 to R7 represents a covalent bond to said core, the others being identical or different each representing a group from H, C1 - C25 alkyl, preferably C1 - C12, (CH2)m-SO3M, (CH2)mNAlk3+, (CH2)m-(OCH2-CH2)p-OH, where M = an alkaline metal and m = 0 or a whole number from 1 to 12 inclusive, preferably between 1 and 6, p = a whole number between 1 and 25 inclusive, aryl, heteroaryl, arylethenyl or arylethynyl.
The invention relates to a method for producing carbon electrodes (42), involving deposition on a support, in order to produce a fuel cell. The inventive method comprises steps consisting in alternately and/or simultaneously depositing porous carbon (40) and a catalyst (44) on the support (42), using a concentration gradient or in a homogeneous manner throughout the thickness thereof, by means of plasma sputtering in a vacuum chamber. The catalyst (44) is used to accelerate at least one of the chemical reactions that take place in the fuel cell and the thickness of each porous carbon layer is selected such that the catalyst deposited on said carbon layer is distributed throughout practically all of the layer, thereby creating a catalysed carbon layer. The total thickness of the catalysed carbon in the electrode is less than 2 micrometers and preferably at most equal to 1 micrometer.

The invention concerns a metal coating process of fibers by liquid, in which a fiber, coated with a material forming a diffusion barrier with the metal, is pulled through a liquid metal bath to be coated by the liquid metal. The process is characterised by the fact that before the fiber passes through the bath, it is coated with a compound which can be wet by the metal. The fiber coating by the metal is facilitated in the presence of the compound, forming an interface which can be wet by the metal.
