The invention further relates to a casting mold (1) and to a wheel (7).

A core, which remains in the cast wheel and has a circumferential rim, is inserted into a casting mold having at least one lower mold part and an upper mold part moved relative to one another to close casting mold. Core is positioned by at least one positioning element in a predetermined position in casting mold, so that an end region of positioning element is fixed with a force fit or frictional fit in circumferential rim of the core. A free end region of positioning element, which protrudes from circumferential rim of the core, is placed on a contact surface, which is preferably arranged substantially horizontally during operation, of lower mold part during positioning of core in casting mold.
