Abrégé
A process for performing Near Field Communication (NFC) between a first NFC device (100) and a second NFC device. The first NFC device (100) includes a NFC transceiver (10) and a FM receiver (20) which are integrated in a same chip. The process involves the steps of: initializing (200) the NFC device (100) to perform a device detection polling loop for detecting any second NFC device, the device detection polling loop comprising activity detection periods which occur periodically; performing (250) within said NFC transceiver (10) a slicing of the activity detection periods in small time slots, each having a duration inferior to one predetermined value so as to reduce the noise generated by harmonics of the NFC operation frequency and which might be audible to the user.

Abrégé
A communications device, such as a GNSS receiver comprises an oscillator, having a temperature-dependent frequency characteristic, for generating signals at a nominal frequency; receiver circuitry, for receiving transmitted wireless signals using the signals generated by the oscillator; at least one temperature sensor, having a known positional relationship to the oscillator; an estimation device, for estimating a frequency of the signals generated by the oscillator, based on a measurement from the temperature sensor, and based on the temperature-dependent frequency characteristic of the oscillator; and at least one heat source. A change in the temperature of the oscillator is predicted, based on a state of the heat source, and further based on a model of the thermal properties of the communications device, and hence a change in the frequency of the signals generated by the oscillator is predicted, based on the temperature-dependent frequency characteristic of the oscillator. The receiver circuitry uses the estimated frequency of the signals generated by the oscillator, and the predicted change in the frequency of the signals generated by the oscillator, in receiving the transmitted wireless signals.

Abrégé
A non-linear signal generation method and device are described where the phase of the nominally identical outputs from two non-linear devices are rotated by an angle θ with respect to each other. The output currents of both non-linear devices (such as amplifiers) are summed at the output. The phase rotation between the two output signals by the angle θ, results in harmonic signal components being cancelled. Which harmonic(s) is(are) cancelled depends upon the value of θ. This happens independent of the common-mode load applied.
