Since this edible ink composition uses, as a white pigment, magnesium carbonate or the like, which has been safely used in the past as a pharmaceutical product and is free of health issues, in place of titanium oxide, the edible ink composition can be used in solid foods or in solid pharmaceutical preparations. This edible ink composition is particularly useful as an ink when printing is performed on the surfaces of capsules, tablets and caplets by means of offset printing.
