An induction receiver has a second planar coil to receive an induction signal from the first planar coil, wherein the induction receiver is in electrical communication with the light module, and wherein the induction receiver provides power from the received induction signal to a light module. A receiver coupling structure houses the induction receiver. The first planar coil of the induction transmitter is positioned substantially parallel and co-axial with the second planar coil of the induction receiver, and both the first and second planar coils are positioned at least partially within the interior of the underwater wall fitting or the interior of the underwater lighting niche.

An induction luminaire system for use in high-moisture environments includes a transmitter coupling structure housing an induction transmitter having a first planar coil. An exterior of the transmitter coupling structure is engageable with a wall fitting or a lighting niche. The transmitter coupling structure has a rear surface which extends into the wall fitting or the lighting niche not more than a predetermined distance. An induction receiver has a second planar coil to receive an induction signal from the first planar coil, wherein the induction receiver is in electrical communication with the light module, and wherein the induction receiver provides power from the received induction signal to a light module. A receiver coupling structure houses the induction receiver and having an interior recess, wherein a portion of the transmitter coupling structure housing the first planar coil is removably positionable within the interior recess.

Direct wireless control of lighting systems for use in a high-moisture environment
A lighting system for use in a high-moisture environment, such as a swimming pool, includes a lighting unit having a housing and at least one light-emitting device positioned within the housing. A power supply provides power to the light-emitting device. A receiver positioned within the housing operates with a LoRa modulation format. A mobile control unit located remote from the lighting unit is configured to transmit at least one wireless control signal to the receiver, whereby the at least one control signal controls or changes a characteristic of the at least one light-emitting device, such as an on/off state, a color, a lighting effect, or a pattern of display. Related systems and methods for installing a lighting system for use in a high-moisture environment are also disclosed.

A receiver positioned within the housing operates with a LoRa modulation format and receives signals at an ISM band operating frequency of substantially between 433.05-434.79 MHz (EU433). A mobile control unit located remote from the lighting unit is configured to transmit at least one wireless control signal to the receiver at a frequency between 433.05-434.79 MHz, whereby the at least one control signal controls or changes a characteristic of the at least one light-emitting device, such as an on/off state, a color, a lighting effect, or a pattern of display. Related systems and methods for installing a lighting system for use in a high-moisture environment are also disclosed.
