A repaired skylight having a damaged dome mounted in a metal frame on a commercial flat roof with an oversized sheet formed of PVC membrane which is 12 oz to 20 oz per yard in weight and reinforced with a mesh network of fibers. The sheet is secured to the metal frame with sticks of termination bar about 1 inch high with pre-punched holes spaced about 6″ to 8″ on center substantially filled with self-tapping metal screws with plastic washers through the termination bars. The sheet is folded at the corners and pleated along the sides of the metal frame with the termination bars coming within inches of the corners.
A skylight leak repair kit and method especially adapted for use in repairing a skylight damaged dome mounted in a metal frame on a commercial flat roof. Required equipment includes an oversized sheet formed of PVC membrane which is 12 oz to 20 oz per yard in weight and reinforced with a mesh network of fibers, sticks of termination bar about 1 inch high with pre-punched holes spaced about 6″ to 8″ on center, self-tapping metal screws with plastic washers. Steps include draping the sheet, positioning sections of the termination bar along the metal frame, pleating the sheet along the sides and securing the sheet along the metal frame with the self-tapping metal screws while avoiding the pleats but coming within inches of the corners with the termination bars.
A vent assisted system for reroofing a built up roof surface or a single ply membrane roof covering including an augmented design incorporating mechanical fasteners and an adhesive for attaching strips of single ply membrane or fleece backed single ply membrane in the turbulent vortex areas along the perimeter of a deck. Coupled with roof vents for equalizing the pressure under loose laid sheets of single ply membrane or fleece backed single ply membrane in the field-of-roof area bordering the turbulent wind vortex areas to reduce membrane stress and resist wind uplift pressures during high wind events.

A vent assisted single-ply roof system including an augmented design that incorporates mechanical fasteners, insulation bonding adhesives and membrane bonding adhesives in the turbulent wind vortex areas along the perimeter of the deck as determined by ASCE 7 calculations. Coupled with roof vents for equalizing the pressure under a loose laid membrane in the field-of-roof area outside the turbulent wind vortex areas to reduce membrane stress and resist wind uplift pressures during high wind events.
