A fob for a remote keyless entry system includes a printed circuit board (PCB) located within a housing. The PCB includes a surface on which circuitry is printed and components are mounted. A coil is mounted to the surface and provides an antenna for the fob. The coil includes a frame spaced apart from the PCB to provide room for other components on the PCB. Coil mounts extend from the frame and are received by the PCB at coil mount locations. The coil mounts contact the surface of the PCB to form an electrical connection.
A system and method for controlling power converters are disclosed. Briefly described, one embodiment is a method comprising communicating at least one first control signal to an alternating current/direct current (AC/DC) power converter from a multi-converter system controller, the AC/DC power converter and the multi-converter system controller residing in a power system electronics housing, and communicating at least one second control signal to a direct current/direct current (DC/DC) power converter from the multi-converter system controller, the DC/DC power converter residing in a power system electronics housing.
A system and method for preventing over voltages in a power system (104) coupled to an electric machine (102) are disclosed. Briefly described, one embodiment is a method comprising detecting an operating voltage on a high voltage direct current (HVDC) bus, determining if at least one component of the power system is operational, communicating a signal to a power converter (108) of the power system when the detected operating voltage is greater than a threshold voltage and when the component is not operational, and shorting together a plurality of terminals of the electric machine.

An illuminated gauge for a vehicle instrument panel includes a single LCD having at least a first display configuration and a second display configuration different from the first display configuration. A pointer is selectively actuatable to operate within one of the first and the second display configurations. A selector is used to switch between the first and second display configurations.
An example display assembly includes a first and second dial face with a first pointer and a second pointer. An information display is disposed between the second scale and the second axis that generates data to communicate information about the vehicle. The second pointer includes a transparent portion to provide uninterrupted viewing of an information display within the second dial face.
A system, method and article for detecting a polarity of a rotor in a motor and/or a generator. In one embodiment, a rotor polarity detection signal is applied and a response thereto is evaluated to determine whether an estimated position of the rotor is correct.
A gauge assembly includes a pointer that provides one appearance in a non-illuminated condition and different appearance an illuminated pointer for low light conditions. The pointer is selectively illuminated to provide enhanced viewing in low light conditions. The pointer assembly includes a film that provides for desired appearances in daylight conditions and also defines a desired multi-colored pattern.

An electrical device includes terminals encased within a housing and having distal ends connectable to two different circuit boards to provide a reliable electrical connection between the circuit boards. The first circuit board and the second circuit board are electrically connected through terminals that are embedded within the housing. Openings within the two circuit boards provide for electrical communication and continuity between the two circuit boards by a mating interference fit with the terminals. The electric contact provided by the interference fit between the terminal and the opening is dependable through extreme temperature ranges.
A method and system generates data within a middle range without a mid-range sensor by combining data within a high and low range. The example system uses high range satellite sensors (16, 18, 20, 22) and a low range sensor (24) disposed within an ECU (14) to obtain a first set of data in the high range and a second set of data in the low range. The first set of data and the second set of data are utilized to produce a third set of data within the middle range thereby eliminating the need for a mid-range sensor.

An RF receiver for receiving transmissions of different modulations includes cycling between a first mode for receiving transmissions of a first modulation that occurs frequently and a second mode for receiving transmission of a second modulation that occurs infrequently. The example RF receiver is cycled between a first modulation for receiving the FSK transmission from the TPM system and a second modulation for receiving the ASK transmission from the RKE system. The RF receiver cycles between different modulations to detect the most frequent FSK modulated transmissions while also detecting and receiving the relatively infrequent ASK modulated RKE transmissions without an undesirable delay.
