The screen panel includes a reinforcing structure having a top surface that supports at least a portion of the bottom surface of the polymer layer, wherein the reinforcing structure is positioned under the polymer layer along only a portion of the aperture perimeter of each of the plurality of panel apertures.

Systems and methods associated with screening systems are provided. In one example implementation, a screening system has a plurality of screen panels. Each of the screen panels define a screening surface with one or more apertures configured to separate material. The system includes a panel node associated with each of the plurality of screen panels. The system includes a controller node associated with the screening system. The controller node is operable to communicate with each panel node. Each panel node can include one or more sensing elements. The panel node further comprises a communication circuit configured to wirelessly communicate information to the controller node.

A system, method, and apparatus for detecting wear in a screening arrangement is disclosed. The system, method, and apparatus can include a sensor that is configured to provide a notification signal when a surface of a screen panel has worn to a threshold level. The threshold level can be based at least in part on the amount of wear that requires replacement of a screen panel to prevent breakthrough or contamination. The notification signal provided by the sensor can be used to identify which screen panel or region of screen panels has been worn to the threshold level so that the screen panels can be replaced in a timely manner. The sensor may be coupled to a conductor embedded in one of the screen panels that is altered when a screen panel has worn to a threshold level, triggering the sensor to provide the notification signal.

The modular protective cover has a male component located at a first end of the modular protective cover and a female component located at a second end of the modular protective cover. The male component of the modular protective cover is adapted to mate with the female component of an adjacent modular protective cover to provide a generally continuous protective surface along a length of a support frame.
