Abstract

A method of simulating wooden-barrel aging of an ethanol-based liquid includes placing wood particles into a chamber, adding the liquid to the chamber, actively mixing the liquid and wood particles within the chamber for a predetermined amount of time, and, at the conclusion of the predetermined amount of time, forcing the liquid through at least one filter into a conduit in fluid communication with the chamber.
