Abstract

Proteins are obtained from soy milk by concentrating the soy milk while increasing the dry matter content. A water-soluble organic solvent is added to the soy milk to form an organic-aqueous suspension in such a way that a shift in the solubility equilibrium occurs due to the addition of the organic solvent and a displacement extraction takes place. The volume of added organic solvent in step iii is selected such that the content of organic solvent of the organic-aqueous suspension is at least 15% by volume. The suspension is adjusted to a pH value of less than pH=7, forming at least one protein phase. The protein phase, with a residual oil content of less than 5 wt. %, based on the dry substance content of the protein phase, is separated from the suspension.

Abstract

A separator for separating a flowable suspension in a centrifugal field into at least two flowable phases of different density. The separator includes a housing, which is stationary during operation and is designed as a tank having at least three openings. The three openings include an inlet for an inflowing suspension and two outlets vertically spaced apart from each other for flowable phases of different density. Annular spaces of the housing are associated with the two outlets. A rotatable drum is arranged within the housing and has a vertical axis of rotation. The drum has three openings, corresponding to the openings of the housing. A multi-part support and drive device, which keeps the drum suspended within the housing, is supported and is set into rotation. An air gap is formed vertically between the two outlets and annular spaces of the housing during operation. The air gap is not filled with one of the outflowing phases during operation when the drum is rotating.

Abstract

A method for clarifying a flowable starting product of solids using a self-emptying centrifuge in continuous operation in a centrifugal field in the rotating drum. A continuous draining of at least one clarified liquid phase occurs and solids emptying occurs repeatedly via outlet openings that are intermittently opened and closed. The emptying of solids from the drum of the centrifuge is initiated, the speed of the drum of the centrifuge is reduced, the solids are emptied from the solids collection chamber of the drum after lowering the speed of the drum, and the emptying of the solids from the drum is ended.

Abstract

A method for producing butter in a buttermaking machine involves using a rotatable beater, in the buttermaking cylinder, to form butter grain and buttermilk with cream supplied to the cylinder. In the drum for the post-buttermaking process, a post-buttermaking process is performed, during which a butter grain size is adjusted. The butter grain is kneaded in the first press, which includes a hollow base body containing one or two screw conveyors, the speed of which can be regulated by a speed-regulated drive, and in addition, the basic water content of the butter is reduced and in the first mixing section, the cross-section of at least one outlet of a throttle device is modified, one or both of the steps and being carried out in an electronically self-regulating manner.

Abstract

A method for monitoring a screw centrifuge, such as a solid-bowl or a screen-type screw centrifuge. The screw centrifuge processes a product so that solids conveyed out of the drum with the screw are removed from the product. A current angular speed and an average angular speed of the transmission input shaft for the screw over time are determined. The current and average angular speeds are evaluated and a warning signal and/or changing one or more operating parameters of the screw centrifuge is changed if dynamic changes in the angular speed are detected during the evaluation.
