Abstract

Described herein is certain quinoline carboxamides for use in the treatment of a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN). The quinoline carboxamides may more specifically be used in the treatment of advanced stages of MPN, including accelerated-phase MPN and secondary acute myeloid leukemia, i.e., acute myeloid leukemia evolving from an antecedent myeloproliferative neoplasm (post-MPN AML), optionally in combination with a further compound selected from a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, a bromodomain and extra-terminal motif protein (BET) inhibitor, a B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) inhibitor, and combinations thereof. Also included are pharmaceutical combinations of the quinoline carboxamides and second agents such as a BET inhibitor or a Bcl-2 inhibitor. Further included are certain quinoline carboxamides for use in combination with a BET inhibitor or a Bcl-2 inhibitor, in the treatment of a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN).

Abstract

A method of identifying a compound for use in therapy which modulates the interaction of SlOO A9 with a ligand comprising: - determining whether a candidate compound is capable of modulating the interaction of SlOO A9 with RAGE or the interaction of SlOO A9 with a TLR (Toll like receptor), or - determining whether a candidate compound is capable of binding to S100A9 in a manner which disrupts binding of SlOO A9 with RAGE or the binding of S100A9 with a TLR, to thereby identify whether the compound may be used in therapy.

Abstract

The present invention relates to methods of treating mammals affected by, for
example, a hyperproliferative disease such as cancer, by administering a
tumor~ targeted superantigen and a chemotherapeutic agent, whereby the
administration of the tumor-targeted superantigen and chemotherapeutic agent
reduce the antibody re~sponse and enhance the T cell response. The
superantigen, wild-type or modified, is fused to a target-seeking moiety, such
as an antibody or an antibody active fragment. The combined administration of
a superantigen and a chemotherapeutic agent pro~vides enhanced therapeutic
effects in a treated animal.
