When processing image data so as to fill in areas between dots using only discharge and no discharge, the problem of reduced image quality occurs. In the present invention, using RIP processing that is capable of adjusting ejection volume for deep and light colors, image data is generated as one bit long data for each pixel and each color and is output to the printer. Then, in order to adjust solid filling, the present invention makes it possible to vary deep color discharge volumes from discharge/no discharge data by setting light color ink to be ejected in regions of high density and expanding deep color data inside the printer. The present invention limits increases in image processing time in the host PC and makes it possible to obtain favorable solid filling.

An information processing device includes a storage unit, a display unit, and a control unit. The storage unit stores a selection value indicating whether a predetermined setting is enabled or disabled, and a setting value that applies when the setting is enabled. The display unit displays a setting screen concerning the predetermined setting. When a nozzle of an ink jet head and a recording medium come into contact with each other, the nozzle is damaged, thereby causing discharge failure. Consequently, in the present invention, by disposing a nozzle guard (22) that exposes a nozzle row (30) on the nozzle surface of a print head (9), contact between the nozzle row (30) and the recording medium is prevented. In addition, by providing a plurality of ink buffer holes (32) in the periphery of an opening part (31) of the nozzle guard (22), ink that has entered between the nozzle guard (22) and the nozzle surface can be removed from the ink buffer holes (32).
When a nozzle of an ink jet head and a recording medium come into contact with each other, the nozzle is damaged, thereby causing discharge failure. Consequently, in the present invention, by disposing nozzle guards (22) that cause a nozzle row (30) to be exposed on the nozzle surface of a nozzle plate (51) of a recording head (9), the contact of the nozzle row (30) and the recording medium is prevented. In addition, by inserting buffer plates (32) between the nozzle guards (22) and the nozzle plate (51), ink does not readily infiltrate between the nozzle guards (22) and the nozzle plate (51) and the amount of ink that overflows is reduced.
