The invention relates to a hearing protection device (1) having an elastically bendable yoke (2), one earplug (4) being disposed on each free end thereof. The yoke (2) comprises a first area (2a), the centerline (2a’) thereof connecting to a further area (2b) at an angle α. During use, the yoke can be pivoted about an axis of rotation (3’) extending through the earplugs (4) in the ear of a user. In order to design such a hearing protection device in a simple manner, so that noise resulting from rubbing of the yoke (2) against an article of clothing can be reduced or eliminated, the invention proposes that a chin area (2a) and a cheek area (2b) are formed, between which the angle α is in the range between 35 degrees and 90 degrees, preferably 45 degrees to 70 degrees, and particularly preferably between 50 degrees and 60 degrees. The cheek area (2b) comprises a length (L) such that an extension of the centerline (2a’) of the chin area (2a) comprises a distance (A) of 30 to 80 mm, preferably from 40 to 60 mm, and particularly preferably from 45 to 55 mm from a line (5) parallel thereto and passing through the penetration point (D) of the axis of rotation (3’) through the yoke (2).
