A takedown firearm that may utilize removable barrels of different calibers. The disclosed firearm does not require a barrel extension, instead providing positioning of the barrel that is sufficiently precise and repeatable. Tensioning of the barrel is provided passively during installation of the removable barrel, without need for adjustment or additional tightening. Securing the removable barrel to the receiver does not structurally involve the fore end, thereby avoiding harmonics effects associated with fore end interfaces to the receiver. The firearm takes advantage of an “underspaced” chamber arrangement to provide additional tolerance for manufacturing and assembly of the firearm.
A semiautomatic shotgun comprising a receiver, a barrel, a forward gas block assembly attached to the barrel, a slider assembly rearward of the gas block assembly extending into the receiver. Upon firing a shotshell the explosive gases in the barrel are diverted through two ports into the gas block assembly, specifically into a pair of lateral pressure relief valves positioned on both sides of the barrel. The pressure relief valves further having a gas pathway from the barrel provided by clusters of holes less than a specific size and on-center with the barrel axis. A piston is forced rearwardly and engages a slider of the slider assembly that is linked to a breech block in the receiver. The breech block loads unfired shells and ejects the fired shells accomplishing the semiautomatic recycling. The dual pressure relief valves actuate to moderate and limit the gas pressure that enters the piston chamber when using shotshells of different power levels thereby providing consistency in the recycling operation. A semiautomatic firearm with redundant systems for reducing misfirings. A safety trigger is provided that is passively actuated in advance of a firing trigger. The safety trigger maintains redundant safety mechanisms that prevent inadvertent or accidental actuation of the firing trigger. The firing trigger can be configured for actuation with a very low magnitude or “soft” pull without compromising safety. For the disclosed embodiments, the safety trigger assures that the firearm is discharged only upon deliberate actuation of the firing trigger. In one embodiment, a trigger pull adjustment mechanism provides adjustment of the pull of the firing trigger to a desired force required by the operator. The disclosed trigger pull adjustment mechanism reduces the number of components and complexity of the machined parts over conventional trigger pull adjustment mechanisms.

A method is described. The method includes iteratively performing for each position in a result matrix stored in a third register, multiplying a value at a matrix position stored in a first register with a value at a matrix position stored in a second register to obtain a first multiplicative value, where the positions in the first register and the second register are determined by the position in the result matrix and performing an exclusive or (XOR) operation with the first multiplicative value and a value stored at a result matrix position stored in the third register to obtain a result value.
