Abstract

A method for producing olefins proposed involves heating a reaction feed, operating a conversion reactor, converting the feed within this reactor, extracting a product gas, and then cooling this gas. The process utilizes a thermal energy recovery system equipped with coaxial inner and outer passages and structures to enhance heat transfer between them. The feed and product gas are passed through the outer and inner passages, respectively, to transfer heat efficiently. Additionally, the reactor is fired using preheated oxidator gas over 400 °C and fuel gas. The thermal system is designed to adhere to specific temperature constraints on the inner passage's containment, ensuring operational safety and efficiency. Corresponding is also disclosed herein.

Abstract

A method for welding two or more conduits includes aligning end portions thereof in an abutting relationship to define a gap. The method includes performing a spatter free root weld along the gap to configure a root layer while the inner circumferential surface side is unobstructed. After the root weld is complete, an outward thrust is applied along the inner circumferential surfaces of the conduits. During the application of the outward thrust, a filler weld is performed along the gap to fill the gap and to facilitate shrinkage of the filler and root weld materials longitudinally and radially outward while preventing pressing out of the filler and root weld materials radially inward of the inner circumferential surface.

A heat exchanger having a first section, through which a first medium can flow, and a second section, through which a second medium can flow. During operation a heat exchange takes place between the first and the second medium. Abstract

A waste heat boiler includes an axial bypass pipe and multiple heat transfer pipes disposed within a cylindrical jacket. A hot exhaust gas stream transported between inlet and outlet ends of the heat transfer pipes is cooled by a coolant. A control system controls gas passage velocity and quantity of the exhaust gas stream through the bypass pipe whereby the exhaust gas stream exhaust temperature is maintained within a predetermined temperature range. The control system includes a stopper disposed at the outlet end of the bypass pipe and has a head plate extending into the outlet end of the bypass pipe. The stopper is axially displaceable from a closed position, where an outer surface of the stopper head plate contacts an inner surface of the bypass pipe outlet end. The gas passage formed between the inner surface of the bypass pipe outlet end and the outer surface of the stopper head plate has a cross-section that increases as the stopper is axially displaced from the closed position. The stopper is cooled by a cooling medium.
