A steering wheel of the present invention is provided with: a spoke cored bar portion configured to couple a boss cored bar portion and a rim cored bar portion to each other. At least a surface of a respective one of the rim cored bar portion and the spoke cored bar portion is covered with a synthetic resin. An inclined longitudinal wall portion is coupled to the spoke cored bar portion at a connection portion, and at an intermediate part of the connection portion, an easily deformable portion is formed. In this manner, it is possible to provide a steering wheel which is not degraded in appearance quality, even if a rib for preventing shrinkage of a resin is increased in size, the steering wheel having an excellent dynamic performance thereof.
A mounting structure of two resin components includes a primary component including an insertion piece extendedly provided from a base portion, and an engagement recessed portion formed in the insertion piece; and a secondary component formed capable of being mounted to the primary component and including an insertion portion configured to guide the insertion piece formed at the base portion, an engagement protruding portion formed in the insertion portion and configured to fit into the engagement recessed portion of the insertion piece, and a restriction wall configured to cover a root side of the insertion piece inserted into the insertion portion, and in a top plan view, a width of the restriction wall being gradually decreased toward a direction separating from a side where the primary component is mounted.
This cowl top cover (10) has a cover body section (11) and a vertical wall section (13) which extends vertically from the front end of the cover body section (11). The vertical wall section (13) is provided with a vertical wall body (21, 41, 42), an opening (22) which is formed in the vertical wall body (21, 41, 42), and a cover section (30, 50, 60) which covers the opening (22). The cover section (30, 50, 60) has a cover-side bending promotion section which extends in the width direction of the vehicle and which promotes the bending and deformation of the cover section to one side of the length direction of the vehicle. As a result of this configuration, the cowl top cover (10) can consistently exhibit a sufficient impact absorption function when subjected to an impact.
A cowl top cover is disclosed that can be placed flush with a windshield and that makes it possible to efficiently absorb an impact load by appropriately allowing the windshield to deform, when the windshield is subjected to the impact load. The cowl top cover according to the present invention includes: a glass-parallel portion including an outer surface that is flush with the windshield at a rear end portion of a cover-main-body portion. The glass-parallel portion includes at least single linear fragile portion having a reduced thickness of the glass-parallel portion along the vehicle width direction. The fragile portion is configured to be deformable or breakable when the cover-main-body portion is subjected to a load equal to or greater than a predetermined magnitude.
A protrusion portion of a clip member is abutted against an end face of a front glass lower end, and the clip member is fixed to a back face of the front glass via an adhesive agent. An engagement portion that is formed in a tongue piece of a cowl-top cover is engaged with a target engagement portion of the clip member, and the cowl-top cover is mounted in a state in which a surface of the cowl-top cover and a surface of the front glass are arranged so as to be flush with each other. In addition, an engagement direction is defined as an engagement direction taken along a lengthwise direction oriented from a lower end to an upper end of the front glass.
The present invention provides a cowl-top cover. A cover mounting portion which is provided along a longitudinal direction from one end part in a longitudinal direction of a cover main body portion is inserted into and then engaged with an engagement receptacle portion, whereby the cowl-top cover is caused to be easily mountable to a vehicle body. A low rigidity portion which is provided at one end part in the longitudinal direction of the cover main body portion is deformed so as to space the cover mounting portion in a counter-insertion direction with respect to the engagement receptacle portion, whereby the cover mounting portion is caused to be easily removable from the engagement receptacle portion at a position of one end part in the longitudinal direction of the cover main body portion.

In an upper cowl-top cover, a first engaging claw is formed on a front face side of a supporting portion configured to support a sealing member, and at an upper end of a lower cowl-top cover, a second engaging-receiving portion configured to engage with the first engaging claw from an upper side is formed. If an impact load acts on a hood and then the upper cowl-top cover moves downward, the first engaging claw and the second engaging-receiving portion are disengaged from each other, and the upper cowl-top cover lowers while supporting lowering of the hood, and is capable of absorbing the impact load while lowering.

Each of the first and second spokes is in a plate shape. The first spoke has a circular first hole in a portion of the first spoke located at a middle in a longitudinal direction of the first spoke and at a center in a widthwise direction of the first spoke. The second spoke has a circular second hole in a portion of the second spoke located at a middle in a longitudinal direction of the second spoke and at a center in a widthwise direction of the second spoke.

Cowl top cover and method of manufacturing the same
The invention provides a method of manufacturing a cowl top cover, which can easily adjust a reaction force of a first seal portion, and ensure sealing performance in a lip part. A main body cavity is formed in a part of a cavity by moving a slid core forward in a guide hole and making it contact with a second die. A cover main body is molded by injecting a synthetic resin into the main body cavity. A slide core is moved backward by a predetermined distance in the guide hole so that the thickness of a lip part in a lip protrusion becomes smaller than that of the lip part in a second seal portion. The lip part is molded by injecting a synthetic resin softer than that forming the cover main body into a seal portion cavity.
For facilitating the work of applying a pivotal member, which is to be pivotally connected to a base member, with a satisfied biasing force, a coil-shaped torsion spring is mounted on the pivotal member having one end thereof pressed on a projection of the pivotal member, then the pivotal member is moved to the base member in such a manner that the end of the torsion spring is brought into abutment with and pressed against a stopper portion of the base member while releasing from the projection of the pivotal member, and the pivotal member is further moved toward the base member until the pivotal member is properly set to the base member.

A slider 24 is supported on a holder 19 of a steering wheel 11 via a coil spring 25 so as to be movable in a direction of an axis while an air bag module 20 is supported on a slider 24 via a damper spring 26 so as to be movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis. Since the coil spring 25 does not affect vibration of the air bag module 20 in the direction perpendicular to the axis, it is possible to set a spring constant of the coil spring 25 at a value appropriate for the operation of a horn switch 37, and to set a spring constant of the damper spring 26 at a value appropriate for the operation of the dynamic damper. As a result, it is possible to effectively reduce the vibration of the steering wheel 11 in the direction perpendicular to the axis with the dynamic damper without affecting the operability of the horn switch 37.

The cover member includes a tear line arranged to break to form a plurality of door portions each arranged to pivot toward one of the upper and lower spaces. The tear line is formed to pivot the emblem to one of the lower spaces of the steering wheel body when the cover member is broken at the inflation of the air bag.
An airbag, which is folded and assembled elongatedly, is deployed along a side window. The airbag has a folded portion and a pleated portion which wraps the folded portion under the assembled condition. The airbag also has an inner tube which is provided from the inside of an infusion portion to the inside of an upstream portion of an inflating portion. The inner tube prevents that the airbag is damaged by heat of inflation gas. When the airbag is assembled, the inner tube is positioned along a first fabric, which is developed so that the surface of the first fabric faces an inside of a vehicle compartment, by the infused fluid. Deployment performance of the airbag (curtain airbag deploying along a side window of an automobile) is improved.
