A floor mop composed of a handle portion, a wringer assembly portion and a mop portion. The handle is equipped with a wringer assembly that slideable moves along the length of the handle a predetermined distance. The wringer assembly has a guide that cooperatively engages the handle to limit travel of the wringer assembly. The wringer assembly has wringer arms that terminate in wringer engagement guide to engage wringer guides on the centerplates of the butterfly floor mop. Each arm further include a cam surface proximal to the wringer engagement guides that cooperative engage linearly inclined ramps to apply progressive pressure on an absorbent material to wring wash liquid during wash operations.
Methods and apparatus are provided for activating a volatile dispensing device. The apparatus includes a puncturing mechanism formed between a first portion and a second portion of an activation arm and the puncturing mechanism being shaped to move laterally to puncture a volatile container as a compressive load is applied to the activation arm through the first and second portions.

A sponge product for cleaning a work surface includes an open-cell melamine foam body layer having a front wall, rear wall, first sidewall or second sidewall that is inclined and at an acute angle relative to the upper surface of the body layer. An abrasive layer is adjacent the upper surface of the melamine foam body layer forming a unitary product. The abrasive layer has at least one of the front wall, rear wall, first sidewall or second sidewall forming an obtuse angle with the lower surface of the abrasive layer, and the abrasive layer upper surface and at least one front wall, rear wall, first sidewall or second sidewall forms a working edge having an acute angle, and the working edge remains flat against the work surface when a force is applied to the sponge product.
A multi-surface sponge product includes a foraminous portion adhered to an abrasive portion to form a unitary product, each portion and the resulting product having a pair of sidewalk and in cross-section or side elevation having the form of a parallelogram. The sidewalls form gripping areas and the angled forward and reward end opposite ends of the parallelogram shaped body form wedges. The multi-surface body is low profile and various edges and corners thereof enable the foraminous and abrasive portions to be selectively used to engage corners of many differently configured surfaces to be cleaned, to either scrub the surface or simply clean or absorb fluid, depending on which portion of the product is emplaced in the edge or in a corner.
The apparatus comprises a fragrance release system comprising a wick, at least one diffuser, the surface area of the diffuser in contact with ambient air being larger than the surface area of the wick in contact with ambient air, and a container to hold the wick, a fragrance preparation that is stored in the container, the fragrance preparation being transported through the wick to the diffuser by capillary action against the direction of gravity when the wick is housed in the container, wherein the substantially cylindrical wick is formed from at least two mutually different plant-based fibrous materials, the first material forming a core and the second material surrounding this core, and the difference between the contact angle of the core material and that of the material surrounding the core relative to water being at least 10°, the core material having the small contact angle, preferably between 0° and 90°, relative to water.

The present invention is a gel air freshener article of manufacture comprising a gel air freshener composition and a container that provides a method for unsealing and opening without undue exertion by the consumer. The article of manufacture according to the present invention includes the gel air freshener composition and a container comprising a base portion and axially displaceable cover in telescopic registry, wherein the cover is axially displaced away from the base portion by rotation. The unsealing of the container is achieved through the coordination of camming locks, which comprise an upper ramped surface, with spike-shaped locking wedges that comprise a beveled toe portion, elongated shaft portion and camming head portion. Rotation of the cover in a first direction relative to the base portion locks the toe end and shaft portions of the spike-shaped locking wedges beneath the camming locks. Rotation in a second opposite direction relative to the base portion backs the camming head portion of the spike-shaped wedges up the upper ramped surfaces of the camming locks such that the cover is axially distanced from the container, thus unsealing the cover from the base and breaking loose the gel air freshener composition bound inside surface of the cover. An optional pin-hole in the cover allows for pressure equalization of the momentary vacuum created when the cover is first unsealed and displaced.
The present invention provides a system for dispensing an air treatment and audibly indicating the dispensing and/or a change in the dispensing intensity. An exemplary audible indicator may include a pattern of a plurality of audible indicators having the same or different durations, having the same or different intensities, separated by the same or different intervals, and having the same or different audible impressions. Different audible indicators are associated with different device states, such as not dispensing, dispensing to create ambiance, dispensing in response to a malodor, or dispensing to offset habituation. Different audible indicators may also be associated with different malodors, or different intensities of the same or different malodors.
In an exemplary embodiment, the present invention includes at least one reservoir with a delivery mechanism in communication therewith. The delivery mechanism draws an air treatment material from the reservoir and provides the air treatment material in response to a decreased level of active air treatment material or the detection of a malodor. Additionally, the delivery mechanism includes a control system and a detection system. The control system activates the detection system at a timed interval or in response to a change in one or more ambient conditions (e.g., motion, temperature, light, humidity, etc.). Once activated, the detection system samples the environment for either the level of active air treatment material or the quality of the environment.
