Abstract

For each of reagent pads and by extracting a region of a portion of an image of urine test paper captured using a camera, an image processing unit 21 generates: a first extracted image, which is an image of a region smaller than the shape of the reagent pad and does not include the outer edge of the reagent pad; and a second extracted image, which is an image of a region larger than the shape of the reagent pad and includes a region situated outside the outer edge of the reagent pad. A measurement unit 22 measures the coloration state of a urine specimen by using the first extracted image generated by the image processing unit 21. An abnormality detection unit 23 detects an abnormality of the reagent pad or an abnormality in the adhesion of the urine specimen to the reagent pad by using the second extracted image generated by the image processing unit 21.

Abstract

An image processing unit 21 cuts out a partial region of an image of a urine test paper, and generates, as a reagent pad image, an image including the outer region of the outer edge of a reagent pad. An abnormality detection unit 23 cuts out only a test paper region from the reagent pad image to generate a reagent pad cutout image, binarizes the generated reagent pad cutout image using a threshold value that is a maximum value or a minimum value of a predetermined luminance range, and determines whether or not a rectangular shape can be detected. If the abnormality detection unit 23 fails to detect a rectangular shape, the abnormality detection unit 23 repeats binarization processing by raising or lowering the threshold value until a rectangular shape can be detected or until every luminance value in the predetermined luminance range is used as the threshold value. If a rectangular shape can be detected with any threshold value, the abnormality detection unit 23 determines that the reagent pad did not fall off, and if no rectangular shape can be detected, the abnormality detection unit 23 determines that the reagent pad has fallen off.

Abstract

A determination system including a fluorescence determination element, a light source, and a control section. The fluorescence determination element has a predetermined plural number of fluorescent portions arranged at predetermined positions. The light source irradiates the fluorescence determination element with a single excitation light. The control section includes an image acquisition unit that acquires calibration data, which is image data from capturing the fluorescence determination element irradiated by the light source, and a determination unit that determines fluorescence information based on the calibration data.

Abstract

A reception unit (32) receives a request for a determination regarding characteristics of a subject. An acquisition unit (34) acquires measurement data pertaining to the amount of an analyte in a sample collected from the subject and stores the acquired measurement data in a measurement data DB (40). A determination unit (36) uses the measurement data stored in the measurement data DB (40) to make a determination regarding the characteristics and outputs the result of the determination. If measurement data has been stored in the measurement data DB (40) in response to a request for a determination regarding characteristics of a subject received at a first time point, and another such request is received with respect to the same subject at a second time point later in time than the first time point, the determination unit (36) makes a determination regarding the characteristics using the measurement data at the first time point stored in the measurement data DB (40).

Abstract

This detection method involves: a measurement step for measuring expression levels of multiple nucleic acid molecules included in each of multiple specimens by the same measurement process and acquiring measurement data indicating measurement results of the expression levels; a calculation step for calculating a processed value through unique digitalization processing for converting multiple expression levels in the measurement data into a unique value using measurement data of at least some of the multiple specimens from among the measurement data acquired in the measurement step; and a detection step for comparing the processed value obtained through calculation in the calculation step with a reference value to detect an abnormality occurring in a process until the measurement data are acquired.

Abstract

Provided is a method for producing a property determination model. In the method, when a property determination model with which a property of a subject is determined is produced on the basis of expression levels of a plurality of small RNA molecules, a specimen from which the plurality of small RNA molecules is derived is selected. A specimen, in which the conditions until the measurement of the expression levels of the plurality of small RNA molecules in the specimen after the collection of the specimen from the subject satisfy predetermined conditions, is selected as a reference subject. Using the expression levels of the plurality of small RNA molecules in the reference specimen, the property determination model is produced.

Abstract

Provided are a sample analysis method and a sample analysis apparatus capable of specifying a component included in a sample regardless of a concentration of the component included in the sample. A sample analysis method or the like includes a step of separating plural components included in a sample by capillary electrophoresis; a step of obtaining an electropherogram of the sample; a step of acquiring a detection time of each peak and a concentration corresponding to each peak from the electropherogram; and a step of specifying a component included in the sample using a parameter indicating a correlation between a detection time and a concentration calculated using a known component with respect to the acquired detection time and the acquired concentration.

Abstract

An imaging device images a sample including material components. An acquisition unit acquires material component images from at least some sample images. A classification unit classifies the material component images into respective groups corresponding to respective types of material components. A transmission unit transmits at least one material component image to a remote processing device is configured to reclassify the images and return reclassification information for the images. An output unit outputs a first status, a second status, and/or a third status for a respective material component image. The first status indicates that the image has been classified but is waiting for an instruction to transmit the image to the remote processing device, the second status indicates that the reclassification information for the image from the remote processing device is pending, and the third status indicates that the reclassification information for the image is received from the remote processing device.
