Abstract

A system (100) and method for processing fibrous plant materials, such as hemp or flax. The plant material processing system (100) comprises an inline, multistage fragmentation or shredding apparatus (102) which is provided for fragmenting the plant material by pressing, separating, breaking and/or dislodging of the plant material. A screening apparatus (104) is provided for receiving the fragmented plant material and screening same based on size and/or type.
