Abstract

The regenerative energy produced during the braking of a vehicle is used for powering a secondary battery, that is independent from the main battery, and, in the event of a complete failure of said main battery, allows the continued operation of the basic services such as power steering, lights, the brake servo unit, and electronics, as a result of the combined action of said autonomous system that includes a capacitor bank which powers said services either directly or via the secondary battery. The system comprises an interface of the electronic power and control unit, an electronic power and control unit, applied to the steering and pedals, and an ECU power controller and port.

Abstract

Steering boxes currently available on the market in order to convert the rotation of the steering wheel into the angular rotation of the wheels are not suitable to be partially built into the rim of the wheels of an electric car. In addition, existing boxes do not allow the independent rotation of the wheels or wide turning radii. These limitations are overcome using a system comprising: a body into which at least one motor is built using corresponding supports, which motor(s) actuate(s) the steering rotation axle of each steered wheel in the upper part of the body, and, in the lower part, a transmission gearbox and a stationary circular crown gear with which driving pinions mesh, said pinions rotating about the crown gear, thereby rotating the entire body and the rotation axle of the wheel built into the body together with suitable means.

Abstract

One technical solution employed in electric cars is the positioning of an electric drive motor in the rim cavity. This solution results in excessive rim fatigue, impacts on the outer parts of the motor, excessive transfer of the weight of the car onto the two front wheels, and dirt entering the motor and its bearings, all of which are prevented with this invention. The invention consists of a substantially cylindrical body containing the electric motor and having a surrounding surface and two covers, a connection box being provided on the surrounding surface. The motor is coupled to the steering system at the upper or lower part thereof by means of an opening aligned with the fully sealed cover.
