Abstract

An increased efficiency boiler system includes a boiler, a thermostat in operative communication with the boiler and a controller. The controller is in communication with the boiler and the thermostat and selectively exchanges data with the boiler and the thermostat. The controller determines a proportional time period, reflecting how long the thermostat is requesting heat from the boiler within a predetermined time period, in dependence upon the exchange of data. The controller further determining a cycle frequency reflecting the number of times the thermostat is requesting heat from the boiler within the predetermined time period. The controller adjusts an energy input provided to the boiler in dependence upon the proportional time period and the cycle frequency.

Abstract

A status monitoring system includes a filter cap operatively connected to a filter housing having an inlet port and an outlet port. A magnet is affixed to the bottom side of the filter cap and extends down into the filter housing. A first thermistor is embedded in the magnet and physically isolated from the fluid for measuring the lagging temperature of the fluid due to the insulating effect of the filtered magnetite surrounding the magnet, while a second thermistor is placed inside the filter housing for measuring the temperature of the fluid. A difference between the measured temperatures, Δt, is then determined. When the Δt reaches a pre-determined point, the status monitoring system would send notification to its user and inform the user to perform the maintenance work on the magnetic filters.

Abstract

A rotary stamper includes an upper die plate assembly, a lower die plate assembly, and a support frame having a drive assembly that moves the upper die plate horizontally and vertically along a generally circular pathway while moving the lower die plate along a linear horizontal pathway. The upper die plate is vertically slidably connected to the lower die plate by way of one or more vertical rods that extend from the lower die plate assembly up through the upper die plate. In operation, the lower die plate matches the horizontal movements of the upper die plate as the latter is moved along its circular pathway. Concurrently, the upper die plate moves towards and away from the lower die plate. This maintains a substantially constant alignment between the die plates for carrying out a periodic machining operation on a moving web of material passing there between.

Abstract

A gas burner system for a heating device includes a burner, a valve assembly for controlling a flow of fuel to the burner, a blower assembly for directing air to the burner, and a control system. The burner includes one or more burner plates for facilitating the mixture of air and fuel to be combusted in a combustion chamber. The control system is configured to independently control the valve assembly and the blower assembly according to a control profile, for generating a plurality of air /fuel mixtures each configured for operation of the burner at a different firing rate. By mapping the characteristics of both the gas valve and the combustion blower independently, the burner system is assured of operating at the proper air /fuel mixture over a very wide range of firing rates, with a turndown ratio of 30:1 or greater, and within ANSI safety and performance standards.

Abstract

A coil processor is provided for performing processing operations on coiled sheet-like material, such as sheet metal, plastics or other materials. The coil processor uncoils and straightens the material before performing desired operations on the material and transferring it for packaging, shipping or further processing. Various features improve the overall efficiency of the coil processor, including its ability to move material forward and backward through the unit without slowing down the overall operation, as well as the versatility of its mobile tool carriers, which can perform multiple complex processing applications, including cutting, punching, stamping, bending or others. Additionally, processing efficiency may be further enhanced by the use of a computer, which determines the most efficient sequence for performing processing operations, and controls the coil processor's various features to process material in that sequence.
