The system comprises a mattress with air chambers and pressure sensors, a BCG sensor, a user interface and a processing means connected to a reference database. The method collects anthropometric and physiological data of the user, analyses changes in pressure and determines the curvature of the back, comparing this data with stored profiles using a nearest-neighbour-based artificial intelligence algorithm. The system recommends the most suitable bed system to maximise the user's sleep quality.
