Abstract

A solid-state canopy light fixture is provided herein having independently controllable sets (and subsets) of solid-state light generating elements to alter light patterns particularly to generate different light temperatures and different light beam angles. As recognized in the lighting industry, solid-state lighting may be rated based on CCT (correlated color temperature). The subject invention allows for CCT adjustment. In addition, the subject invention allows for light beams of different beam angles which allow for different areas of lighting (ranging from narrower to broader light beam angles). The subject invention allows for alteration of these light settings without physical retrofit of the light fixture.

Abstract

A solid-state lighting fixture assembly having a lighting fixture with a socket configured to receive a plug associated with one or more accessories to allow for easy in-field mounting of accessories, e.g., controls, onto installed lighting fixtures. The socket may be internally electrically connected to an auxiliary power output of a driver and/or to a battery power pack within the lighting fixture assembly, thereby providing direct-current voltage power for the accessory and, also, allowing for signal transmission to and from the accessory. Each accessory includes one or more sensors and communication components to provide the connected lighting fixture assembly with specific capabilities including, but not limited to, motion detection, ambient light level detection, ambient temperature measurement and wireless communications. The wireless communication can also be used to control one or a group of lighting fixtures and transmit sensor data associated with, for example, monitoring space utilization and asset tracking.

Abstract

A modular vapor-tight light fixture is provided herein which generally includes first and second vapor-tight light modules, and a coupling for connecting the first and second vapor-tight light modules. Each of the vapor-tight light modules includes: a channel housing; a lens secured to the channel housing; a plurality of solid state light generating elements; and, first and second end caps. Each of the channel housings includes first and second rails which each define a mounting channel. The coupling includes mounting strip portions configured such that, with the first and second vapor-tight light modules being adjacent, the mounting strip portions are simultaneously received in the mounting channels of both the first and second vapor-tight light modules. Advantageously, with the subject invention, fully enclosed vapor-tight light modules may be provided at shorter lengths which are connected by the coupling to provide a fixture comparable in length to prior-art vapor-tight light fixtures.

Abstract

A modular light system comprising a lightbar assembly with first and second conductive parts, each of which extend in a direction generally transverse to a longitudinal axis of the lightbar assembly. The modular lightbar system further comprises a lightbar assembly connector having a major surface and with a conductive part that extends in a direction generally transverse to the major surface. Such a design and configuration enables the lightbar assembly connector and lightbar assembly to be connected by moving the lightbar assembly connector in a direction generally transverse to the longitudinal axis of the lightbar assembly (or by moving the lightbar assembly in a direction generally transverse to the major surface of the lightbar assembly connector). It is thus possible to assemble a lightbar system comprised of a plurality of lightbar assemblies and lightbar assembly connectors, any of which are removable, replaceable, or serviceable.

Abstract

The present disclosure generally relates to several embodiments of a new illumination device using a plurality of LEDs, the device is designed to better diffuse heat produced from a heating driver circuitry and the LEDs in a way that allows for either the operating or equilibrium temperatures of the heat sensitive elements as part of the device to be subject to less stringent temperature increases and therefore improve the viability and energy performance of the device. The new design includes toroid-shaped external rings for the plurality of LEDs and a middle opening for the driver circuitry. The new design further includes fins and the use of different spaces and openings within the housing to help control the flow of heat by way of thermal conduction, thermal convection, or thermal irradiation.
