Abstract
A maritime floatation device MFD for using remote firing devices above and below the water line by way of non-electric or electric initiation. The maritime floatation device MFD includes a receiver housing (13) having a combination of at least two receivers connectable via shock tube to respective explosive device. One receiver is able to be set for timed initiation for separation and the second receiver is able to set for remote initiation or timed initiation in order to meet the desired required operational capabilities of the maritime floatation device. A releasable basket housing (26) is connected to receiver housing (13) by a retention device (25), (45). A separation device (24) deactivates the retention device (25, 45) so as to allow for separation of the receiver housing (13) from the basket housing (26) upon the activation of the separation device (24) by the explosive device initiated from a timed initiated receiver. A shock tube spool is positioned within the basket housing such that spool accommodates and includes a length of shock tube that is connected to the second receiver and to explosive charge so as to allow flexibility in deployment of the maritime floatation device to suit the desked standard operating procedures. Floats (44) are attached to the receiver housing (13) so as to allow receiver housing to float to the surface once the receiver housing is separated from the basket housing. The maritime floatation device allows non-electric or electric initiation of shock-tube with properties able to be deployed and operated under water at water depths without ingress of water impacting on the reliability of the maritime floatation device.

Abstract
An expendable remote initiator receiver for initiating at least one shock tube connectable to an explosive charge. The receiver includes a shock tube interface that directly interfaces with a shock tube connected to an explosive charge, a spark initiator that initiates a spark at the shock tube interface to initiate the shock tube, a multifunctional shock tube interface adaptor mounted and connected to the shock tube interface, wherein the multifunctional shock tube interface connects the ground of a printed circuit assembly (PCA) to the shock tube needle to allow a spark to occur upon initiation by the spark initiator and also holds the PCA securely. The remote initiator further includes configuring means adapted to allow the receiver to be field bondable such that the receiver can be configured to any transmitter, zeroizer configured by software to allow the configuration of the receiver to be blanked so that the receiver cannot be initiated by any transmitter until such time as the receiver is field-bonded by the configuration means, a multifunctional battery cap adapted to withstand ±25 KV electrical static discharge (ESD) events and allows for the receiver to stand upright, and an antenna capable of withstanding ±25 KV ESD events.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract
A remote initiator for the remote initiation of explosive charges. Abstract
A shock tube initiator (STI) for allowing the remote and/or manual initiation of at least one shock tube, typically two shock tubes is disclosed. The STI consists of: a) at least one coupling 8, connected to a shock tube containing a shot shell primer that upon firing initiates burning of the shock tube, b) a cockable mechanical firing mechanism 7 adjacent to the coupling 8 wherein the mechanical firing mechanism 7 is adapted to strike respective firing pins 9 within the couplings, c) a safety mechanism 15 adapted to allow the mechanical firing mechanism 7 to ignite said explosive charge only when the safety mechanism 15 is moved from a safe mode position to an armed position, d) a rotary solenoid valve 24, electrically connected to and energised by a remote controlled operating system, and e) an actuator 10 positioned between and engageable with the rotary electro-mechanical energising means 24 and the firing mechanism 7 and wherein said actuator 10 is adapted to be actuated either by the rotary solenoid valve 24, when energised, or manually manipulated (13) to allow the cockable mechanical firing mechanism 7 when cocked, to ignite said shell primer.

Abstract
A remote initiator for the remote initiation of explosive charges. The remote initiator having: (i) a transmitter with means for generating and transmitting a coded signal and input means for inputting operational commands into the transmitter for generating the coded signal, (ii) at least one receiver adapted to be connected with the explosive charges, the receiver having means for receiving the coded signal from the transmitter and input means for inputting operational commands into the receiver for generating an output signal for the remote initiation of explosive charges upon receipt of a valid transmitted coded signal, (iii) a power source for each of the transmitter and receiver, and (iv) dual processing means that are independent of each other are adapted to provide independent control of a firing circuit and adapted to synchronise with each processing means before initiation can occur so as to enhance safety and reliability of the transmitter and receiver and the initiation of the remote initiator.
