Abstract

An underwater mask includes a frame, a transparent part, a seal part mounted on the frame, and a snorkel. The seal part has a partition wall forming an upper and a lower chamber, the lower chamber receiving nose and mouth of the user. The two chambers communicate through a passage in the partition wall and a one-way valve so that air can pass only from the upper chamber to the lower chamber. The snorkel has first and second channels through which the upper and respectively lower chamber communicate with the outside. A connection end between snorkel and mask is fastened at an opening of the seal part to put the first channel of the snorkel in communication with the upper chamber of the mask, and further has a side inlet for a corresponding exhaust tube that puts the lower chamber in communication with the second channel of the snorkel.

Method for assessing the severity of an underwater dive, comprising the calculation of a dive severity index, which calculation is performed by carrying out the following steps: a) determining the gas breathed by the diver, b) measuring the dive time, c) determining the depth profile of the dive, d) calculating a dive severity index based on a function of a), b) and c) e) assessing the severity based on the result of the calculation of the dive severity index d) the steps a), b), c), d) and e) being carried out in real-time mode, at each instant of the dive time of the diver, and the calculation d) being performed according to the following formula: DSI = k1 * f(GAS) * f(D) * f(T) where : DSI is the dive severity index, k1 is an arbitrary constant, f(GAS) is a function of the inhaled gas, f(D) is a function of the dive depth, f(T) is a function of the dive time.

Abstract

A swim or scuba diving fin (1), which fin (1) comprises an open-back shoe portion (3) having no heel portion, to form a pocket (303) for receiving the foot of the user, a blade portion (2), which forms a forward extension of the shoe portion (3) and means for holding the foot in said open-back shoe (3). Said foot holding means consist of an elongate element in the form of a strap, belt or the like (4), having such a length as to surround the heel portion, the sidewalls of the pocket (303) of the shoe (3) and at least part of the tip of said shoe (3), which elongate element (4) is at least partially separated from said open-back shoe portion (3), and is or may be connected to said open-back shoe portion (3) in length-adjustable and/or at least partially removable fashion through first coupling members, which first coupling members engage with corresponding second coupling members located at the front tip of the open-back shoe (3).

Abstract

A device for releasably connecting a first element with a second element includes a male element connectable to one end of the first element, and a female element connectable to one end of the second element such that the male and female element pass from a disengagement condition to a mutual engagement condition. A slider activates and deactivates engagement and is engaged to the male element such to slide along the axis of insertion of the male element inside the female element. The relative motion between the activation/deactivation slider and the male element is transmitted to first removable locking members, belonging to the male element and cooperating with corresponding second locking members belonging to the female element, such to pass from a stable locking condition to a stable release condition of the male and female elements via a movement of the slider along the axis of insertion.

Abstract

A reversible connection device for reversibly connecting together a first element and a second element designed to be alternately connected and disconnected, which comprises a male element (1), inserted into a female element (2), such that the male element (1) and the female element (2) move from a mutually disengaged state to a mutually engaged state. A slider (3) is also provided, for actuation/release of the engaged state, which is slidingly engaged by the male element (1) along the axis of insertion of the male element (1) into the female element (2). The relative movement of the actuation/release slider (3) and the male element (1) is transferred to first releasable locking members of the male element (1), which cooperate with corresponding second locking members of the female element (2) to move from a stable locked state to a stable unlocked state of the male element (1) relative to the female element (2). The movement from the unlocked state to the locked state is obtained by an action of movement of said slider (3) in the direction of insertion. Furthermore, the male element comprises a handle (13) having the slider (3) at least partially and slidingly housed therein.
