The present invention refers to a process for the direct cationization of cotton fiber and its dyeing with reactive dyes. The opening of the initial fiber is carried out with two cylinders with rounded tips. Subsequently, the fiber is impregnated with cationizing agents in a vat and then sent to an autoclave with soft water. The soft water vapor present in the autoclave heats the fiber and allows the fixation of the reagents in a homogeneous way. The fiber is rinsed, neutralized and centrifuged before being dried. The fiber obtained is converted into yarn. The cationized yarn forms a fabric to be dyed.
