A monitoring subsystem receives data from the display units, including sensor and operational status data, tags the data with a unique identifier, and analyzes the data using an AI model to identify if the data indicates that any of the display units are experiencing abnormal conditions or maintenance needs. The AI model is trained on historical data including sensor and operational status data from same or different display units tagged as normal or abnormal. The monitoring subsystem generates an alert and electronic service request for the abnormal conditions and maintenance needs.

An airflow pathway fluidly connected to an ambient environment extends through at least a portion of the housing. At least a portion of the airflow pathway extends behind the electronic display and forward of the panel. At least one electronic component for operating the electronic display assembly is located at a rear surface of the panel. The at least one electronic component may be directly adhered to the rear surface of the panel, such as to provide thermal coupling.
An electronic display device includes a housing for an electronic display to form an assembly. A thermal management subsystem forms part of the assembly and utilizes ingested ambient air from immediately outside said assembly to thermal manage the assembly. Data is received from one or more sensors pertaining to at least one characteristic of the ingested ambient air at times during operation of the assembly. Operating parameters of the assembly are automatically adjusted when the data indicates a difference in the measured at least one characteristic at the times, and when said difference exceeds a threshold value.
