Abstract

The invention relates to a fireproof material for cladding the distribution system of a steel melt when casting steel in a bottom casting process, and formed parts made of such a fireproof material. In order to reliably prevent non-metallic inclusions in the steel in a bottom casting process, and to increase the steel quality, the invention proposes that the fireproof material comprises carbonaceous components at least on the steel side, is bonded to and/or coated with and/or permeated by said components. Formed parts made of such a fireproof material can either be continuously drawn as a hollow product or carbon bonded by means of dry pressing.

Abstract

A tubular rotary kiln is shown and described, comprising a metal casing and comprising a refractory lining (1) for protecting the metal casing, wherein the refectory lining (1) has a first region (6) of kiln bricks (2) and at least one second region (7) of kiln bricks (3) that have a greater affinity to encrustation than the kiln bricks (2) of the first region (6) and also a coating of a refractory lining (1) for such a tubular rotary kiln.  In order to ensure a continuous flow of the reaction material through the rotary tube and to reduce the loads of the reaction material, it is provided that the refractory lining (1) has a lining pattern (8), which is formed at least by the first region (6) and the second region (7) and in which at least one contour (10) of the second region (7) runs obliquely in relation to the longitudinal direction of the tubular rotary kiln.
