Abstract

A conveyor pan (1) for a chain scraper conveyor comprises a bottom plate (4) and a pair of side profiles (2, 3) fixed to the bottom plate (4) by welding. The conveyor pan (1) has an increased wear resistance, in particular due to a specific geometry of a weld groove formed between the profile rails (5, 6) of the side profile (2, 3) and the bottom plate (4). The weld groove extends deeper into each profile rail (5, 6), resulting in a more durable weld connection during use of the conveyor pan (1). In addition, a geometry of a pocket member (11) for connecting adjacent conveyor pans (1) and an inspection opening formed in the bottom plate (4) have also been improved to result in an increased strength of the conveyor pan (1).

Abstract

A control system for controlling operation of a cutter motor and a cutter boom movement mechanism of a machine includes a sensor that measures an amount of load associated with the cutter motor. A controller determines whether the load on the cutter motor is different from a cutter motor load limit. If so, the controller is configured to adjust a velocity of the cutter boom movement mechanism relative to a tip velocity of a rotary cutting tool associated with the machine based on the difference between the measured cutter motor load and the cutter motor load limit until a torque error of the cutter motor reaches a particular value, for instance, zero. Moreover, the controller may also adjust a current speed of the cutter motor in driving the rotary cutting tool based on the adjusted velocity of the cutter boom movement mechanism.

Abstract

A control method and system for avoiding collisions between components of a machine (100) includes a controller (191) that receives position signals from sensors (200, 202, 204, 210, 220) associated with movable components of the machine (100). The controller (191) determines the positional coordinate representations of the components within a coordinate system based upon the position signals and the outer dimensions of the respective components. If any of the components are within preset collision slowdown or shutdown zones within the coordinate system, then the speed of those components is restricted or the components are shutdown, respectively, in the direction of collision.

Abstract

A material handling system (100) for use in an underground mining comprises a conveyor (10). The conveyor (10) transports material from a plurality of draw points along a first direction (x). At each draw point, a feeder (12-26) is arranged. Each feeder (12-26) is configured to load a predetermined amount of material per unit time onto the conveyor (10) during a loading operation. A load calculating unit (28) calculates a load distribution of the material on the conveyor (10). The calculation is based on a movement speed of the conveyor (10) and an operating time of the plurality of feeders (12-26) during which a loading operation is performed. Based on the calculated load distribution, the loading operation of the plurality of feeders (12-26) is controlled to achieve a continuous coverage of conveyor 10 without overloading the same.

Abstract

The present disclosure generally relates to a milling device (10). The milling device (10) includes a first row of cutting discs (14) mounted on a first circumference, and a second row of cutting discs (18) mounted on a second circumference. The second row of cutting discs (18) is offset from the first row of cutting discs (14) in a longitudinal direction of the milling device (10), and the second circumference is arranged relative to the first circumference such that the second row of cutting discs (18) projects at least in part radially outward from the first row of cutting discs (14). Therefore, the first and second rows of cutting discs (14, 18) cut a material to be removed at a different depth, with a predetermined distance (X) formed between the cuts in order to achieve a substantially continuous milling line.

Abstract

A sensing device (36) for a digital linear position sensor is disclosed. The sensing device (36) includes a mounting device (28) including a mounting surface (27), and a plurality of resistors (38) mounted on the mounting surface. The plurality of resistors (38) is electrically connected in series between a first voltage node and a second voltage node. Abstract

The invention relates to a shield canopy for a shield-type support for underground mining, comprising a canopy plate (2) and a supporting structure (5) being welded on below the canopy plate (2) and having a plurality of longitudinal spars which extend from a rear canopy region (1A) up to a front canopy region (1B). In order to provide a shield canopy which can be produced at less cost and with lower weight and at the same time has a higher bending resistance than the known structures, the invention proposes that at least two of the longitudinal spars consist of section struts (6; 16) which are provided with a top section flange (7; 17) and a web (9; 19) running perpendicularly to said top section flange (7; 17), and in that the canopy plate (2) and the section struts (6; 16) are angled upwards in the front canopy region (1B).

Abstract

In the transfer station (10) according to the invention, a holder plate (19) is arranged on a carcass (16) of the drive (17) for the longwall conveyor in the transfer region between a longwall conveyor (12) and a drift conveyor (13) in the region of a drive (17) for the longwall conveyor, wherein the drift conveyor is connected to the longwall conveyor so as to perform limited pivoting motions relative to the longwall conveyor. Said holder plate is provided with a bearing holder (21), in which a special connecting channel element (22) of the drift conveyor (13) is mounted so as to move pivotably relative to the longwall conveyor (12) or the drive (17) thereof about a pivot axis (26) defined by the bearing holder (21). The design has the special advantage that the pivot bearing is easily accessible and must transmit only low forces that result substantially from the charging of the drift conveyor.

An extraction device, particularly for mining, having two drive stations and a drive chain which extends between the sprockets thereof. So that hanging chain or chain wear to a conveyor chain, in the case of a conveyor device, or to a plow chain, in the case of a plow device, can be detected, magnetic sensor units for detecting at least one chain condition of the drive chain are provided, wherein each sensor unit includes a transmitter, which is formed by a static or dynamic magnetic field generator, and a detector field, which is provided with a plurality of magnetic field detectors, as a detector, the detector and the transmitter being arranged to the side of a passage for the run of the drive chain that is to be scanned. The invention also relates to a method for controlling an extraction device for preventing hanging chain.
