Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of treating a surface of a utensil as well as to a utensil having been treated by the method. A substrate is provided to form a component of the utensil. The substrate has a surface area to be treated. Through a shot peening process particles impact the substrate substantially evenly across the surface area, so as to dimple the substrate with depressions across the surface area, in order to reduce adhesion of matter on the treated surface area of the utensil.
B24C 1/10 - Methods for use of abrasive blasting for producing particular effectsUse of auxiliary equipment in connection with such methods for compacting surfaces, e.g. shot-peening
A47J 36/02 - Selection of specific materials, e.g. heavy bottoms with copper inlay or with insulating inlay

Abstract
There is provided a childproof knife support for supporting at least one knife having a blade. The knife support is provided with a frame having a hole extending therein for receiving the blade of the knife. The support is also provided with a clamp mounted in the hole and having first and second adjacent jaws for clamping the blade inside the frame once the blade is introduced in the hole. The support also has a spring for urging the second jaw against the first jaw to prevent a movement of the blade away from the hole by clamping the blade. The support also has a releasing mechanism preventing an action of the spring on the second jaw, thereby allowing the movement of the blade away from the hole.
A steaming system for steaming food is provided. The steaming system includes a base component adapted to receive fluid therein and cooperate with a steam generating apparatus configured to heat up said fluid to produce steam. The steaming system also includes at least one steaming component having a steaming compartment adapted to contain food to be steamed, the at least one steaming component is operatively mounted on the base component and is in fluid communication therewith. Furthermore, the steaming system is operable between a steaming configuration where the base and steaming components are stacked onto one another to allow circulation of steam from the base component to the steaming compartment and a storage configuration where the base component is contained within the steaming compartment.
The present disclosure concerns a manual food-slicing apparatus, comprising: a blade-supporting base; a cutting disk rotatably mounted to the blade-supporting base and comprising a plurality of cutting teeth disposed on an outer periphery thereof; and a food-guiding platform comprising a food-facing surface; wherein the food-guiding platform is pivotably mounted to the blade-supporting base to configure the food-slicing apparatus into a cutting configuration in which the food-facing surface of the food-guiding platform is substantially perpendicular to a cutting plane defined by the cutting teeth and a storage configuration in which the food-facing surface of the food-guiding platform is substantially parallel to the cutting plane. It also concerns a corresponding method.

Abstract
The present invention relates to a kitchen device, namely a cooking vessel to be used with a cooking utensil. The cooking vessel is adapted to hold the utensil by the stem in order to suspend the cooking implement of the utensil above the container of the cooking vessel. More particularly, the cooking vessel comprises a container having a bottom surface, and a handle extending from the container. The handle has an opening for receiving the stem of the utensil, the opening having a predetermined shape for cooperating with the stem to temporarily hold the stem so that the cooking implement of the utensil hangs above the bottom surface of the container. There is also provided a cooking assembly comprising the cooking vessel and the utensil. There is also provided a handle to be joined to a cooking vessel, as well as a utensil to be used with the cooking vessel.

Abstract
A device for making patties of compressible food matter of different sizes, for example meat patties, comprises a first member having a first compression plate for making a patty of a corresponding size and shape. The device further comprises a second member to be added onto the first member. The second member has a second compression plate to extend from the first compression plate to form therewith a larger compression plate when the first member is mounted onto the second member, in order to make a food patty of a corresponding larger size. The first and second members have respective cooperating attaching means to connect the members in an assembled position.

MANUAL FOOD SLICING APPARATUS INCLUDING A RETRACTABLE BLADE ASSEMBLY
A manual food slicing apparatus is provided for slicing a food material into food cuts. The apparatus includes a main blade and at least one blade set comprising multiple spaced apart blades being positioned in a row that extends in a transverse direction of a sliding area. The blades are moveable between a cutting position to perform longitudinal cuts in the food material upon sliding the food material against the blade set in a forward displacement direction, and a biased position when the blade set is retracted to avoid cutting the food material when displaced in a rearward displacement. The apparatus can further include a locking mechanism being selectively moveable between a locked position for preventing movement of the blades from the cutting position to the biased position, and an unlocked position for allowing movement of the blades between the cutting position and the biased position.
A cutting device (1) for cutting an edible product (3) into several pieces, the cutting device (1) including a base frame (5), a main receiving area (7) for receiving the edible product (3) to be cut, a main pushing assembly (9) for selectively pushing the edible product (3) to be cut, and a main cutting assembly (13) disposed about the base frame (5), for receiving and cutting the edible product (3) into a series of main cuts, via an array of holes (15), provided by a main cutting interface (17). The cutting device (1) further includes a preliminary cutting assembly (19) removably mountable about the base frame (5) for first receiving and cutting the edible product (3) into a series of preliminary cuts, via an array of holes (21) provided by a preliminary cutting interface (23), prior to insertion of the edible product (3) into the main receiving area (7), wherein the edible product (3) is ultimately cut into a series of pieces resulting from the passage of the edible product (3) through at least one of said main and preliminary cutting interfaces (17,23) of the two different cutting assemblies (13,19) of the cutting device (1).
