Abstract

The invention relates to a machine tool (1) and to a method for finely machining bearing bores (6) of a bearing line (5) on at least one workpiece (4), wherein a workpiece (4) held by a workpiece holder (2) and at least one chip-forming tool (7) are positioned in relation to each other and, in this process, the tool (7) moves into the workpiece (4), and in a further step a plurality of bearing bores (6) is simultaneously finely machined by relative motion between at least said tool (7) and the workpiece (4) in the longitudinal direction (9) of the bearing line (5). In order to reproducibly achieve high fine-machining quality together with short cycle times, according to the invention, in the positioning process, a plurality of angle heads (10), which are fixed in the position thereof in relation to each other and in the angle thereof and which each have a chip-forming tool (7), moves into the workpiece (4) at an angle to the longitudinal direction (9) of the bearing line (5), which tools (7) simultaneously finely machine a plurality of bearing bores (6) in cantilevered support by the relative motion between said tools and the workpiece (4) in the longitudinal direction (9) of the bearing line (5) in a further step.

Abstract

The invention relates to a machine tool (1) having a multiplicity of stationary tool spindles (3) that are optionally displaceable from a retracted rest position into an extended working position and are positioned at various positions in a frame-like stand (2) which defines and comprises a machining space, and having a workpiece manipulator (4) by way of which a workpiece support (5) is movable multi-axially in translation and preferably also in rotation. In order to create advantageous loading conditions, it is proposed that a loading door (8) is associated with at least one of the leg walls (7) defining the machining space (6), and that a workpiece support holder (10), which is equipped with a coupling (11) for the workpiece support (5), is arranged on at least one, preferably on both, loading door leaf fronts (9).

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for activating a workpiece manipulator (4) of a machine tool (1) with a control device, which prescribes by means of a computing unit machining paths (6) for a workpiece that are to be travelled by the workpiece manipulator (4) from a machine starting position (A), wherein the workpiece (5), which can be moved by the workpiece manipulator (4) in a multi-axially translatory and preferably also rotating manner, is passsed to a plurality of tools (3) one after the other for the step-by-step machining.  In order to create advantageous conditions, it is proposed that, in the case of an interruption in machining, the workpiece manipulator (4) is made to move with the workpiece (5) back over the path of movement (7) assigned to the respective machining step into the starting position (8) prior to this machining step, after which the workpiece manipulator is optionally stopped or moved into the machine starting position (A).
