Abstract

The present invention is directed to delivery device for deploying an insertable into an orifice guided by digit, the delivery device comprising: insertable orientation means adapted to orient the insertable in a deployment orientation and digit orientation means adapted to orient a portion of at least one digit in a navigation orientation, the insertable orientation means and the digit orientation means adjoined across a partition with a partition cross-section, and the deployment orientation and the navigation orientation arranged for digit guided deployment of the insertable into the orifice. Also disclosed is a method of deploying an insertable into an orifice guided by digit, using the delivery device of the present invention. The delivery device and method of the present invention are well suited to deploying tampons into the vaginal cavity.

The present invention is directed to delivery devices for deploying an insertable into an orifice guided by digit, the delivery device comprising: an insertable orientation means having a first longitudinal axis and a base portion, the insertable orientation means adapted to load an insertable positioned in a deployment orientation, and a skirt member extending from adjacent the insertable orientation means and having a skirt length and comprising opposing digit contacting and orifice contacting surfaces, wherein the skirt member is adapted to be movable substantially parallel to the first longitudinal axis and along the skirt length, between: an insertable surrounding configuration, wherein an orifice contacting length of the orifice contacting surface substantially faces the insertable orientation means and any loaded insertable; and a digit surrounding configuration, wherein the orifice contacting length of the orifice contacting surface substantially faces away from the insertable orientation means and any loaded insertable. Also disclosed is a method of deploying an insertable into an orifice guided by digit, using the delivery device of the present invention. The delivery device and method of the present invention are well suited to deploying tampons into the vaginal cavity. Further disclosed is a manufacturing die adapted to mould a delivery device of the present invention, a manufacturing jig for assembling a delivery device of the present invention and an insertable, and a manufacturing process for manufacturing a delivery device and insertable assembly.
