Abstract
Systems and methods for sub-dewpoint sulfur recovery using a separation device and/or an interstage heater to improve the performance of a single (catalytic) step sulfur recovery system without the need for a thermal step or an additional catalyst. The sulfur bearing compounds are removed at a higher pressure than traditional Claus operating pressures prior to additional feed gas processing. The main reaction in the Claus-type process used to convert the sulfur species to elemental sulfur is: 2H2S + SO2 3S + 2H2O where SO2 may be used as the oxidant for the Claus catalytic reaction.

Disclosed are systems and methods for on-line pigging of a coker furnace, in some embodiments without interruption of a delayed cooking process. Selected systems comprise first and second tubular assemblies each having passages with a respective valve for controlling fluid communication through each passage, and a pig for traversing a third passage of the first tubular assembly, the pig comprising a plurality of wooden discs and a plurality of ceramic cloth discs joined together, or a tightly wound rope with a diameter that is greater than an inside diameter of the third passage of the first tubular assembly as well as a tubular segment and a third passage of the second tubular assembly. Optionally, such systems could be retrofitted to existing in coker furnaces.

Abstract
Systems and methods for enhanced separation of H2S and NH3 are provided. Specifically, the present invention includes a method for separating hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, which comprises: i) introducing a fluid mixture of the hydrogen sulfide and the ammonia into a hydrogen sulfide stripper; ii) introducing a stripping gas into the hydrogen sulfide stripper, wherein the stripping gas comprises at least one of a carbon dioxide and an inert gas; and iii) separating most of the hydrogen sulfide and the ammonia in the fluid mixture using the stripping gas in the hydrogen sulfide stripper, which forms a hydrogen sulfide stripper overheads stream and a hydrogen sulfide stripper bottoms stream.
