Abstract

A valuable metal recovery system 1 comprises a waste water treatment device 2 and a valuable metal recovery device 3. The waste water treatment device 2 comprises water treatment units, namely, a tank 21, a flocculation/sedimentation tank 22, a membrane type filtration device 23, and a valuable metal adsorption device 24. The valuable metal adsorption device 24 is formed by detachably providing an adsorbent column (functional material element). Furthermore, each of the water treatment units can be unitized, placed on one or more trailers T, conveyed to a waste water discharge site, and installed at the site. The adsorbent column after adsorption is transported to the valuable metal recovery device 3, and in the valuable metal recovery device 3, a target valuable metal is eluted or back-extracted from the functional material element that is filled with the adsorbent. The present invention thereby realizes a valuable metal recovery system which employs a functional material such as an adsorbent or an extractant that is capable of selectively adsorbing or concentrating a target valuable metal and circularly recycling and reusing the valuable metal by means of a method such as elution/regeneration or back extraction.

Abstract

Water to be treated (feed water) W4 having a pH of 8 or above is supplied to an electric deionizer 8, and the water to be treated W4 is supplied to desalting chambers 25 of the electric deionizer 8. Desalted water W5 that passed through the desalting chambers 25 is collected, and supplied, in the direction opposite to the desalting chambers 25, to concentration chambers 26. Thus, even when the pH of the to be treated (feed water) W4 is 8 or above, the ion concentration in concentrated water in the concentration chamber 26 is lower nearer the take-out side of the desalting chamber 25. In particular, it becomes possible to reduce the transfer of inorganic carbonate ions, in the vicinity of the outlets of the desalting chambers of the electric deionizer 8, from the concentration chambers 26 to the desalting chambers 25, and prevent a decrease in the resistivity of the desalted water W5. According to such a method for operating an electric deionizer, high-quality treated water can be efficiently produced even when high-pH feed water is supplied to the electric deionizer.

Abstract

In the present invention, after a prescribed amount of raw water is stored in a raw water tank 2, valves 4, 6 are opened and a pump 5 is operated. Water in the raw water tank 2 is successively passed to first to fourth RO devices 11-14 through pipes 3, 7, and concentrated water from the fourth RO device 14 is returned to the raw water tank 2 through a pipe 15, an orifice 16, a back pressure control valve 17, and a pipe 18. Permeated water is taken out through a permeated water pipe 20 and a permeated water tank 21. Since the orifice 16 is provided, back pressure can be sufficiently applied to the RO devices 11-14 including the RO device 14 without excessively reducing a valve lift of the back pressure control valve 17. Therefore, clogging of the back pressure control valve 17 can be prevented.

Abstract

A method for controlling a reverse-osmosis membrane device in a pure-water production device according to the present invention includes reducing the opening degree of a control valve 62 to reduce the amount of primary pure water W2 being supplied to a sub-tank 41 if the amount of ultra-pure water being used at a use point decreases and a measured value for a water level obtained by a water gauge 63 increases. In such an instance, on the basis of a measured value obtained by a pressure gauge 61, a control means reduces the output of a high-pressure pump 32A so that the measured value obtained by the pressure gauge 61 remains substantially fixed at a predetermined pressure. However, if the amount of ultra-pure water being used at the use point increases and the measured value for the water level in the sub-tank 41 decreases, then the opening degree of the control valve 62 is increased to raise the amount of water being supplied to the sub-tank 41. In such an instance, on the basis of the measured value obtained by the pressure gauge 61, the control means increases the output of the high-pressure pump 32A so that the measured value obtained by the pressure gauge 61 remains substantially fixed at the predetermined pressure. Adopting such a configuration yields a feature in which water is stably fed even if the flow rate changes in a manner that follows the amount of water being used or another such parameter.

Abstract

Once the amount of usage at each use point decreases and the measurement value of water level by water level meters 61A, 61B increases, the amount of water supply to pure water tanks 60A, 60B is reduced by reducing the opening degree of control valves 59A, 59B. This increases the water supply pressure of a pressure meter 58, and thus the output by a high pressure pump 52B is reduced through inverter control on the basis of the measurement value from the pressure meter 58. On the other hand, once the amount of usage at each use point increases and the measurement value of the water level of the pure water tanks 60A, 60B becomes smaller than this reference value, the amount of water supply to the pure water tanks 60A, 60B is increased by opening the opening degree of the control valves 59A, 59B. This reduces the water supply pressure of the pressure meter 58, and thus the output by the high pressure pump 52B is increased through inverter control such that the measurement value from the pressure meter 58 becomes substantially constant. Such a control method for a pure water production system allows for control of the amount of water supply of the entire system, particularly one having a plurality of tanks, according to the amount of water usage.

Abstract

When the amount of water usage at each use point decreases and the amount of water supply to sub systems 4A, 4B, 4C becomes lower than a reference value, if the amount of water supply is reduced by throttling each of control valves 60A, 60B, 60C, the water supply pressure at a pressure meter 59 increases. Therefore, a control means reduces, on the basis of the measurement value from the pressure meter 59, the output of a high pressure pump 52B through inverter control such that the measurement value at the pressure meter 59 becomes substantially constant with respect to a predetermined value. In addition, when the amount of water usage at each use point increases and the amount of water supply to the sub systems 4A, 4B, 4C becomes higher than the reference value, the amount of water supply is increased by opening each of the control valves 60A, 60B, 60C. This reduces the water supply pressure at the pressure meter 59. Therefore, the control means increases, on the basis of the measurement value at the pressure meter 59, the output by the high pressure pump 52B through inverter control such that the measurement value at the pressure meter 59 becomes substantially constant with respect to a predetermined value. Such a control method for a pure water production system allows for control of the amount of water supply according to the amount of water usage.

Abstract

This method for separating and regenerating an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin in a mixed ion exchange resin is carried out by means of a configuration comprising: a separation tower; a cation exchange resin regeneration tower; a Seprex tower (anion exchange resin high-purity separation tower); and a mixing tank for mixing an anion exchange resin and a NaOH solution (solution having an intermediate specific gravity between the anion exchange resin and the cation exchange resin). The anion exchange resin retrieved during a separation step contains a small amount of the cation exchange resin. Then, the anion exchange resin is loaded into the mixing tank, water is drained, and then a NaOH solution is injected to immerse the resin. The NaOH solution is set to have a specific gravity between those of the anion exchange resin and the cation exchange resin. Thereafter, the anion exchange resin is transferred to the Seprex tower together with the NaOH solution. This method for separating and regenerating an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin makes it possible to separate an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin, by using the Seprex method, to a precision at which the level of mixing is extremely low.

Abstract

A primary water purification device 3 has a flow meter 41 downstream of an ultraviolet oxidation device 13, and has a control means that can control the amount of ultraviolet rays radiating from the ultraviolet oxidation device 13 on the basis of the value detected by the flow meter 41. The ultraviolet oxidation device 13 is composed of blocks of a plurality of ultraviolet lamps, and the amount of ultraviolet rays radiating from the ultraviolet oxidation device 13 can be controlled by controlling the number of blocks to be lit and adjusting the illuminance of ultraviolet lamps of each block by the control means. The amount of water to be treated is measured by the flow meter 41 downstream of the ultraviolet oxidation device 13, and the amount of ultraviolet rays radiating from the ultraviolet oxidation device 13 is controlled to be increased or decreased in accordance with the increase or decrease in the amount of water to be treated relative to a preset standard flow rate. According to this apparatus for producing pure water, it is possible to suppress the generation of hydrogen peroxide even when the amount of water to be treated fluctuates, in accordance with the amount of water used by the ultraviolet oxidation device etc.
