Abstract

A belt transmission mechanism for a cooling tower blower wherein a flat belt is used in the transmission mechanism for the blower, a tension adjustment unit is adopted for suppressing meandering of the belt, a separate belt guide part is provided in the vicinity of a driven-side pulley, thereby preventing deterioration of and damage to the belt even when a state of reverse travel of the belt continues for a long period of time. For a belt (13), which is a flat belt, a tension adjustment unit (14) prevents loosening of the belt (13) and suppresses meandering of the belt (13) during travel. In addition, a belt guide part (15) is positioned in the vicinity of a driven-side pulley (12), and the uppermost position of a guiding surface thereof is aligned with a lower-limit position on the outer-circumferential surface of the driven-side pulley in a possible travel range of the belt; thus, it is possible for the belt guide part (15) to suitably restrict an excessive lowering of the belt (13) contacting each pulley, that is, a driving-side pulley and the driven-side pulley, even in a situation in which an impeller is in a state of reverse rotation and the meandering suppression control carried out by the tension adjustment unit (14) is ineffective, and the maintenance load can be reliably reduced by, for example, reducing the frequency of replacement of the belt.

Abstract

With this belt transmission mechanism for a cooling tower air blower, a flat belt is used as a transmission belt for an air blower, a tensile force adjustment part that minimizes belt meandering is appropriately placed, the belt can be prevented from falling off, and an impeller can be driven more efficiently while the need for maintenance is eliminated. Specifically, a flat belt is used as a transmission belt (13) stretched between a drive-side pulley (11) and a driven-side pulley (12), a tensile force adjustment part (14) that holds the belt (13) by a tension pulley (14d) in contact with the belt (13) so that the belt (13) does not sag is made to also have a function of minimizing meandering of the belt (13) during travel, and the rotational center position of the tension pulley (14d) is positioned near the driven-side pulley (12); therefore, the belt (13) can be appropriately restrained by the tension pulley (14d) of the tensile force adjustment part (14), and misalignment of the belt (13) can be minimized to prevent the belt from falling off the pulleys even when the travel direction of the belt (13) changes due to the impeller rotating in reverse.

Abstract

A belt transmission mechanism for a cooling tower blower that uses a flat belt as a transmission belt for a blower, and has an appropriately-positioned tension-adjusting part that keeps the belt aligned, thereby preventing the belt from falling off and making the belt maintenance free, while improving the efficiency of the driving of an impeller. Specifically, the flat belt is used as a transmission belt 13, which stretches between a drive-side pulley 11 and a driven-side pulley 12. A tension-adjusting part 14, which holds the belt 13 by means of a tension pulley 14d that is in contact with the belt 13 so that the belt 13 does not flex, is designed to have the function of keeping the belt 13 aligned while traveling. Furthermore, since the rotation center position of the tension pulley 14d is located near the driven-side pulley 12, the belt 13 can be appropriately controlled by the tension pulley 14d of the tension-adjusting part 14, and by suppressing misalignment of the belt 13, even if the travel direction of the belt 13 is altered by the reverse rotation of the impeller, the belt 13 can be prevented from falling off the pulleys.
