Abstract
A method and apparatus are provided which include providing a rotatable roller with a cylindrical surface adapted to wrap the donor element on the surface. A donor element is secured to the roller and a first portion of the donor element is wrapped onto the cylindrical surface while applying tension to the media. The tension is then decreased to alter a region of contact between the first portion of the donor element and the cylindrical surface. An additional portion of the donor element is then wrapped onto the cylindrical surface. The donor element is then transferred from the roller to a substrate.

Abstract
A method for imaging a media is provided which includes supporting a substrate and the media in a layered configuration. An imaging head is operated to image the media by directing radiation beams towards a surface of the imaged media while effecting relative movement between the imaging head and the support. A roller is brought into contact with the imaged media. The roller can be brought into contact with an un-imaged region of the surface of the imaged media, the un-imaged region corresponding to a region of the surface of the imaged media that is not impinged by the radiation beams. The un-imaged region could be an edge portion of the media. Relative movement is effected between an axis of rotation of the roller and the support to cause the roller to roll on the regions of the surface of the imaged media impinged by the radiation beams.

Abstract
A method is provided for forming an image on a media while the media is moved relative to an imaging head. The media can include a pattern of registration sub-regions. The image can include patterns of features, such as color filter features or colored illumination sources which can be registered with the pattern of registration sub-regions. The imaging method can include operating an imaging head to emit a plurality of independently-controllable radiation beams while scanning over media to form an image on the media. The imaging channel of the imaging head can be operated to emit a radiation beam having a first intensity while scanning in a first direction over the media during a first scan and to emit a radiation beam having a second, different intensity while scanning in a second, opposite direction over the media during a second scan.

Abstract
Method for imaging patterns of features by thermal transfer involve controlling intensities of a plurality of beams. The intensities of beams that image edge portions of a feature may be set to be different from the intensities of beams that image interior portions of the feature. Beams that image home and away edges of a feature may be controlled to have different intensities. Apparatus for imaging patterns of features may comprise a controller (230) configured to maintain intensity information for channels of a multi-channel imaging head (26). The controller uses the intensity information to set intensities of those channels that correspond to edge portions of features (56', 56') being imaged in a current swath of the imaging head (26).

Abstract
Two or more sets of non-contiguous features are selected from a pattern of non-contiguous features, and each set is imaged separately during a single scan of a multi-channel imaging head. The non-contiguous features selected in each set can be selected such that they are imaged with substantially the same transferred characteristics. The non-contiguous features selected in all the sets can be selected such that the pattern is completely imaged after all of the sets have been separately imaged, and each imaged non-contiguous feature in the completely imaged pattern has substantially the same imaged characteristics. The one or more sets can be selected such that the selected non-contiguous features of one set are interleaved with the selected non-contiguous features of another set.
