Abstract

An exemplary power driven vehicle has a take-apart frame comprising a front frame and a rear frame that are detachably and pivotally connected together. The front frame includes means for receiving at least one steerable wheel and a steering mechanism and means for receiving a seat, and the rear frame includes means for receiving at least two drive wheels. The vehicle also has at least one steerable wheel, a steering mechanism, and a seat connected to said front frame. At least two drive wheels are pivotally connected to said rear frame via a single axle. An electric motor is mounted on the rear frame and adapted to drive at least one of the drive wheels. A shroud partially covers the front frame and is fixedly connected thereto. At least one battery box is detachably mounted on the shroud and is in electrical communication with the electric motor. A locking and unlocking means of the vehicle is adapted to prevent, or alternatively allow, the disconnection of the rear frame from the front frame. The locking and unlocking means comprises a locking lever pivotally connected to the front frame. At least one groove or recess in the locking means engages the rear frame when the vehicle is in its normal position, thus preventing the rear frame from pivoting relative to the front frame. In an unlocking position the rear frame is allowed to pivot relative to the front frame, thereby allowing the rear from to be disconnected from the front frame.

Abstract

An exemplary wheelchair comprises a main frame and a seat frame. Drive wheels and pivoting caster wheels are affixed to and support the main frame. The seat frame is connected to the main frame via left and right rear linkage arms, each rear linkage arm having a first end pivotally connected to the main frame and a second end pivotally connected to the seat frame, thereby allowing the seat frame to pivot relative to the main frame around a virtual pivot point. A seat plate having right, left, front, and rear sides is supported by the seat frame. A backrest frame is also connected to the seat frame. Left and right guide slots of the seat frame receive left and right guide rollers rotationally arranged at each end of a laterally oriented shaft connected to the main frame. The present invention provides a thread-based adjustment of the position of a wheel with respect to the frame of a wheelchair on a longitudinal, horizontal and also on the vertical axis. More particularly, a wheelchair is disclosed comprising a thread-based adjustment assembly, which is used to connect a wheel axle bearing structure to the frame of the wheelchair. The adjustment assembly does not add substantial weight to the wheelchair and gives a light appearance. Furthermore, no screws and nuts for attaching the assembly to the frame are necessary. A wheelchair has a wheelchair frame resting on wheels and supporting a seat,
and a backrest
frame supporting a backrest. The backrest frame is pivotally connected to the
wheelchair frame
and has two lateral tubular elements, each tubular element having an upper end
portion provided
with a handle and a lower end portion pivotally mounted on an axis supported
on a support
fixedly connected to the wheelchair frame. Locking/unlocking means are
