Abstract

An improved personal radiation protection system that substantially contours to an operator's body is suspended from a suspension means. The garment is operable to protect the operator from radiation. The suspension means is operable to provide constant force and allows the operator to move freely in the X, Y and Z planes simultaneously, such that the protective garment, face shield, illumination means or other attachments integrated the system are substantially weightless to the operator. A face shield and arm cover can also be incorporated with the system, such that the face shield and arm cover are substantially weightless to the operator. The suspension means may be mounted to the ceiling, a vertical wall, the floor, or on a mobile platform.

Abstract

The invention relates generally to embolic agents and embolic delivery systems more specifically it relates to a device and method for filling of aneurysm or body cavity. In various embodiments, segmented and monolithic embolic agents provide the operator with the ability to select and detach the length of embolic agent, either extracorporeally or intracorporeally as desired by the operator, for implantation into the aneurysm or body cavity. Linking elements and detachment elements may be utilized by the operator to connect and detach variable lengths of embolic agents either extracorporeally or intracorporeally utilizing electrolytic, chemical, and mechanical detachment mechanisms. Embolic delivery systems are disclosed providing for constant and steady propulsion of the embolic agent.

Abstract

A system for providing radiation protection is provided that includes a garment that contours to an operator's body. The garment protects the operator from radiation. The garment is supported by a suspension component that reduces a portion of weight of the garment for the operator, the garment including a belt, which includes a release mechanism that offers an entry into the garment. In more specific embodiments, the release mechanism is a quick release that allows the operator to disengage from the garment using a single hand movement. The belt can include at least one flexible joint. The belt opens to allow the operator to enter the garment, and the operator, in entering and exiting the garment, is able to limit his contact to components on or near a front of the garment such that the operator can operate the release mechanism for the garment without losing sterility.

Abstract

An improved personal radiation protection system (10) that substantially contours to an operator's body is suspended from a suspension system (12). The garment (16) is operable to protect the operator (20) from radiation (24). The suspension system (10) is operable to provide constant support and allows the operator (20) to move freely in the X, Y and Z planes simultaneously, such that the protective garment (16), face shield (18), or other attachments integrated into the system are substantially weightless to the operator (20) and move in substantial concert with the operator (20) during operation. A binding system (34, 36, 38, 60) allows the operator to easily engage and disengage from the system.

Abstract

A personal radiation protection garment that substantially contours to an operator's body is suspended from a suspension means. The garment is operable to protect the operator from radiation. The suspension means is operable to apply constant force. The suspension means allows operator wearing protective radiation garment to move freely in the X, Y, and Z spatial planes simultaneously, such that the protective radiation garment is substantially weightless to operator. A radiation protection face shield and flap can also be suspended from suspension means, such that face shield and flap are substantially weightless to operator. The suspension means can be mounted to a ceiling.
