STABILIZED COMPOSITION FOR COMBINED ODOR CONTROL AND ENHANCED DEWATERING
A composition comprising a compound mixture dissolved in water, the compound mixture comprising at least one chlorite salt at least one cyclodextrin; and at least one alkaline base; provided that the cyclodextrin is in an amount of 0.13 to 13 parts by mass for every 50 parts by mass of chlorite anion ClO2-, and the alkaline base is in an amount of up to 13 parts by mass for every 50 parts by mass of chlorite anion ClO2-; wherein the composition has a pH of at least 12.5. A process for forming the composition and process for treating suspensions of particles with the composition are also disclosed.
A method for treating water with chlorine dioxide wherein the reactor is contained inside of the water supply line being treated and an eductor is used to draw in the chemical precursors. The method offers facilitated chlorine dioxide (ClO2) generation and safer operation over wider ClO2 mass flow capacity, thus offering a more adaptable system for ClO2 treatments. Noise reduction and ease-of-use versus traditional eductor-based ClO2 generators are additional benefits from using this method.
